All style. Chris Amon in the Ferrari at Oulton Park 1968 for the annual Gold Cup meeting. Amon was second to Jackie Stewart's Matra and ahead of Jackie Oliver's Lotus. When I first visited Maranello officially, there was a full wall mural of this shot in a reception area. When my Ferrari host arrived (late and with no apology), I said "He's a friend of mine" and nodded at the image. He looked, grunted and said "we go" and took me to a battered 456 and we did a fast lap of their official road test route into the mountains and then out onto Fiorana test track where the F1 team were testing. My driver was fair cranking it along, full blooded opposite lock drifts but when the F1 cars went by it was another dimension. ZOOM! Drivers were Jean Alesi and Gerhardt Berger making it 1994.
This shot was by Nick Loudon, but there is an almost identical photograph by Les Thacker, a friend, who said Amon was really turning it on that day and he did this at the same spot each lap for lap after lap..
