So it will soon be full speed ahead in Mallets Shed — car restorations, old machinery, building whatever the hell I feel like, and maybe even a little jet engine to sling on something just because I can!
It feels pretty bloody good to finally say goodbye to the business that Nisha and I built from nothing into what it has become today. There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, but I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, the people we’ve employed and trained, and the friendships we’ve made along the way.
As they say, as one door closes, another one opens, and I’m genuinely looking forward to what comes next.
My commute to work is about to improve dramatically — out the back door, down the path and into the shed!
No more constantly ringing phone and no more feeling like I need to be in three places at once. I’ll be able to pick and choose the restoration jobs I take on, spend some time on my own projects, play around with old machinery, and generally build, restore or invent whatever takes my fancy.
I’m certainly not planning on sitting around doing nothing. I’m just finally getting to choose what keeps me busy.
So, if you’ve got an old car, tractor, piece of machinery, or whatever else tucked away that you’ve always wanted restored and looking like new, let me know.
I’ll be picking and choosing the projects that interest me, and I’m always keen on something a little different or unusual.
Mallets Shed is about to get busy!
As one door closes, another one opens — and I reckon this next one is going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
