Safe and powerful, a Volvo Trucks promise.

TC Smith Transport has taken ownership of this new Volvo FH16 700hp 8x4 Rigid Curtainsider with Sleeper Cab. It's powered for productivity with a Euro 6 diesel 17.3 litre engine with SCR, particulate filter, EGR and Turbo-S. The electronically controlled air suspension system improves driving comfort and reduces the risk of damage to the cargo.

The suite of Volvo safety systems give full support for the driver and other road users, with lane keeping and stability assist features and collision warning with emergency brake. In addition to the camera monitoring system is the electrically heated and operated flat glass mirror with front monitoring camera on the passenger side.

Based in New Plymouth, this unit is contracted to Mainfreight to transport Chemcouriers materials and general freight around Taranaki.

*4* is the magic number for C Johnson Contracting. That is 3120 hp working for NZ Post! All on the road and working to get parcels to your door.

The balance of the four new Volvo trucks have joined the nationwide linehaul fleet for NZ Post and Courier Post, operated by C Johnson Carrying Company out of Taupo, driven on split-shifts optimising time on the road.

Each of the Volvo FH16 780 8x4 Rigid Globetrotter Cab units feature:
✅ Euro 6 D17 780hp powerful engine providing up to 3800 Nm of torque and more engine braking power at low engine speeds
✅ I-Shift automated 12-speed gearbox with overdrive
✅ Rear single reduction tandem axle with bogie load of 23 tonnes and GCW 70 tonnes
✅ Air rear suspension
✅ EBS and disc brakes on all axles
✅ Full suite of safety features
✅ Globetrotter XL, extra-high sleeper cab

Livestock or Flatdeck - this Volvo FH16 is powered for productivity in Taumarunui.

Sinton Contracting Limited has taken ownership of this new Volvo 8x4 Rigid truck powered by a Euro 5, 16 litre 700hp/3150nm engine and Volvo I-Shift automatic transmission with overdrive.

This unit is built for multi-use. Livestock when the crate is fitted or Flatdeck when the crate is removed. There is also a PTO fitted so the tipper option is available when a specialised bin is connected.

Safety also tops the list of features including:

✅ ACC & forward collision warning & emergency braking
✅ Lane departure warning system
✅ Lane change support
✅ Driver alert sensing system

New Volvo Trucks Service Location is now open!

Earlier this month our service agent in Tauranga, Truckstops, moved into their new state-of-the-art workshop facilities at Tauriko Business Hub.

The opening was celebrated by customers from throughout the Bay of Plenty region, along with the Volvo team, who were treated to a mouth-watering BBQ from Rolling Coal.

This new workshop is located at 160 Kaweroa Drive, Tauriko, and has four new workshop bays and two service pits, offering Volvo customers a full range of aftermarket support services including warranty, repairs and new COF capability in-house.

There is comprehensive after-hours support available to all of our Volvo Trucks customers as well as a well-stocked driver's lounge and secure yard.

Head on in, grab a coffee, have a chat with Volvo Account Manager, Mark Ellerington and the team on site.
