We did a full check over the car and reported our finding to the owner.
The gen 2 can be easily modified by removing the 2nd CAT and resonator to give them a nice sound which isn't too loud.

Finally got access back onto this account. 😁😁

The next few posts will include older jobs we have done this year.

It is always good when you get to start working on stock cars that haven't yet been touched. This car had:

✅Service
✅Upgrade HPFP internals fitted
✅One step colder plugs fitted
✅Simple tune to really get the most out of it

The difference is awesome and this car has heaps more room to play, with a few more mods yet to come to achieve what the owner is wanting.

One of the perks of using versatuner is that we are able to disable fault codes to keep that engine light off from faults such as from the EGR after it has been removed.

This beautiful car came to us to have the faults codes disabled and a tune. Although this car already had a great tune on the accessport, they were unable to disable the fault codes, leaving the engine light stuck on.

☑️ Custom tune.
☑️Fault codes disabled.
☑️Car checked over.

✅ Rear motor mount.
✅ Front sway bar bushes.

This car came in bone stock apart from bov and a boost controller once I saw this that was the first thing to go I do not recommend running aftermarket boost controllers on these cars upgrading the stock boost control solenoid and letting the ECU adjust the boost pressures.

We had this Gen 2 come in as a bone stock car, apart from a BOV and an aftermarket electronic boost controller fitted. The first thing to be done on this car was removing the electronic boost controller. I do not recommend running aftermarket boost controllers, both electronic or manual (boost taps) on these cars. Instead, it is a safer option to upgrade the stock boost controller solenoid to an aftermarket variant e.g a MAC valve.

The modifications made to this car included:
✅HDI front mount intercooler kit
✅EGR delete kit
✅Upgraded intake
✅Upgraded HPFP internals
✅Oil catch can setup
✅Removed VTCS from stock intake manifold
✅Upgraded RMM
✅Replaced the drivers side engine mount with a new OEM mount
✅Service including engine oil and filter
✅ECU relocation and tidied up the wiring loom going to ECU.
✅Tuned to suit the new modifications

It’s always good getting to meet new people through the car community and having the opportunity to work on different cars. It’s also very fulfilling to be able to work on friends cars when they get to experience the enjoyment of the end results.

I was asked to datalog this car, and in doing so, I could see it wasn’t quite running right and was targeting more boost than it was getting. I inspected the car and found the stock boost control solenoid had failed. I then removed the stock solenoid only to discover that someone had attempted to repair a broken ni**le on this.

The tasks we completed on this car included:

✅Removing the stock boost control solenoid and fitting a new aftermarket solenoid
✅Fitting a new aftermarket intake
✅Modified the stock exhaust system
✅BOV delete
✅Tune

When it comes to tuning the Mazdaspeed’s without upgrading the hpfp internals, you can't push them as much. However without these installed, a noticeable difference is still made and the cars run much better.

Another happy customer.

This Mazdaspeed 6 came in for:

- Timing chain replacement ✔️
- Tune ✔️

The car already had a modified exhaust, aftermarket intake and upgraded HPFP internals.

We were able to push the turbo to the limits as per the owners request, and made the car pretty quick whilst running smoothly

Timing chains are definitely one of the most important things you can do for your car. When you hear it rattle on cold start, get it done ASAP.

This one had just started doing it on cold start, so we fitted a new timing chain kit and performed an engine service. While it was with us, we also fitted upgraded hpfp internals to the car. 😁

Thanks to JohnnyParts NZ for supplying the timing chain kit.

This car had very low kms and you can see how dirty the hpfp components were. 👀

We do all kinds of jobs here. This is one of the fun jobs, trying to find all the faults as to why the car won't start running.

Damaged wiring loom ✅
Faulty fuel rail pressure sensor ✅
Damaged water temp sensor ✅

Repaired wiring loom and wrapped it up replaced sensors and car was back on the road 👍👍
