The only this we love better than how good the Otorohanga Football Club is to deal with, is their post game write ups.
A bit of a battle with the autumn leaves on Saturday morning which the buffalo turbine blower cleared easily..... Until the switching wind blew it all back onto the field..... But the pitch must have been right for a double win.

Bailey Ingham Reserves vs Tokoroa Reserves:
Mid week it looked like we wouldn't have a game......Tok were struggling with injuries and availability and were in limbo. We were suddenly struck with our own player issues when it was declared that the game was still on. Friday night, even Saturday morning came, and we were still finding players, and then we found out Tok was bringing some first team members due to a postponement, so fair to say it was all on even before kick off.
Luckily for us, we welcomed Jamie Walker, finally back from injury, looking to test his ankle, and Grayson Fortis looking for a run too, and they got stuck right in. The boys stepped up and once again were all over our opposition and were only denied by the woodwork, a charging keeper and a few classic div 4 close calls. Tok managed to take the early lead with a counter and a quality finish. We went into the break down by 1, but we never felt out of it by any means. German and Jamie bossed the midfield, Payno and Coop as robust as ever in CB.......I could go on, everyone was on, including our bench. Jamie eventually got us back on level terms with a run into the box that never seemed to end. Bossarelli climbed for a peach of a header from a cross and Brad with a tidy d**k over the keeper in his first run in Blue.
Man of the match for Jamie on return, another highlight was Boss and his maiden team chant and aftermatch speech.
Bulk Lines First Team vs Melville:
We have been fortunate to have a couple double header home games this season. This weekend was the one for the supporters to be at. With the B's having a strong start to the season and our first team chasing that elusive win, our first team followed up a strong B's performance with a dominant shift of their own bringing in their first points of the season.
With a new game plan, slightly different lineup and a whole new level of fizz, our lads coming out with a hiss and a roar. An early goal bundled in by new boy Lachlan Ellis saw the lads get off to cracking start. Only to be squashed minutes after when the travelling team equalised.
However, we quickly got back into the swing of things, kept the ball and controlled much of the first half, scoring another couple of goals before half time through the big target man Nathan Scott and prominant winger Jared Drabble.
3-1 at half time, with a simple message of not dropping standards and game management.
Credit to Melville for their grit and fight in the second half. Regardless of the multiple chances we created in the second half Melville held strong, keeping us at bay, until in the dying embers of the game a long kick forward from outstanding goal keeper Aaron Smith, smartly flicked on from Jared Drabble found the run of the gaffer, Jackson Allen, in on goal to calmly slot it away and put the game to bed. A strong 4-1 win. Massive confidence booster and a great weekend for the Otorohanga FC đź’Ş
Man of the match performance put in by Nathan Scott up top, the engine on the big man is unmatched
