βοΈ Winter Roads = Extra Caution βοΈ
With the colder mornings and frosty weather setting in, black ice can catch even the most experienced drivers by surprise. It often can't be seen until it's too late, especially on bridges, shaded areas, and country roads.
π A few simple tips to help keep you and your family safe this winter:
β
Slow down and allow extra time for your journey.
β
Increase your following distance.
β
Brake and steer gently β sudden movements can cause your vehicle to skid.
β
Make sure your tires have good tread and the correct tyre pressure.
β
Check your windscreen wipers and keep your washer bottle topped up.
β
Ensure all your lights are working so you can see and be seen.
β
If you don't have to travel in icy conditions, consider waiting until the roads warm up.
