It is with no small amount of regret that we must announce Orewa Panelbeaters, 9 George Lowe Place, Orewa will be closing its doors for good on 11 November 2022.
Having supported the business over the last 2+ years through periods of lockdown closures, alert levels constraining demand, increased processing times/costs, skilled migrant workers leaving our shores to reunite with family and our team members having to isolate, we are now busier than we ever have been, however, the ongoing challenges of recruiting/retaining skilled workers in the face of aggressive poaching by larger repairers and the continuing increase to the cost of doing business, across the board, show no signs of slowing down (let alone reversing) and puts us in a challenging position.
This comes at a time when we must renew our commercial lease for 4 years and so we cannot, in good faith, commit to this when there is so much uncertainty with 1 vacancy unfilled for over 6 months and 2 more needed to increase capacity to meet demand.
Serving our customers remains our priority and we have been working with insurance companies to hand over authorised repairs to other workshops with the minimum of impact possible.
It has been a pleasure to serve Orewa and the wider the Hibiscus Coast community. We are as disappointed as you that we sadly cannot continue doing this.
