🚤 **The boat was ready to hit the water… unfortunately, the trailer decided to hit rock bottom first.** 😂

When this boat trailer suffered a serious case of *“I’m not going any further”*, Coast Towing was called in to get the whole outfit safely off the roadside and aboard our truck.

⚠️ A PLEA FROM YOUR LOCAL TOW TRUCK DRIVERS ⚠️

Please, when you see a tow truck working on the side of the road, SLOW DOWN AND GIVE US SOME ROOM.

Tonight we were carrying out a difficult salvage job on the motorway in pouring rain. Our warning lights were going, we were clearly visible, and there was another lane available — yet vehicle after vehicle continued past us at speed, frighteningly close to where we were working.

Tow truck drivers often have no choice about where we work. When someone crashes or breaks down on a motorway or busy road, that's where we have to go to help them.

We may be operating winches, securing vehicles, recovering badly damaged vehicles or simply trying to get someone and their vehicle safely off the road. We can't always have our eyes on the traffic coming up behind us.

🟠 IF ANOTHER LANE IS AVAILABLE, PLEASE MOVE OVER.

🟠 IF YOU CAN'T MOVE OVER SAFELY, PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND GIVE US AS MUCH ROOM AS POSSIBLE.

Those flashing amber lights aren't there for decoration. They mean someone is working close to live traffic.

Passing a tow truck at motorway speed with only a metre or two between you and the person working beside it is genuinely frightening — and completely unnecessary when there is room to move over.

We're out there helping someone who's already having a pretty bad day. Please don't turn it into an even worse one for us and our families.
