Nicholls Auto Centre (2019) Limited is looking for for an easy going, personable and professional Workshop Foreman with broad automotive experience, to manage the day to day productivity and work quality of a team of 3-5 technicians technicians. You'll be able to work collaboratively alongside the owner, Service Advisor, Office Administrator and full time Tow truck driver and you will be comfortable dealing directly with customers.
Nicholls Auto Centre (2019) Limited is a prominent and busy automotive service and repair workshop and 24/7 Tow and Salvage provider located in the heart of Richmond's growing CBD. We are MTA approved, part of the Auto Super Shoppe network and an AA Authorised Repairers.
We provide general mechanical repairs and servicing to all makes and models of vehicles, tyres, wheel alignments, batteries, diagnostics and WOF's. Our work is varied and exciting! We could be serving a car or light commercial, attending a jump start or lockout, diagnosing a check light, doing a WOF inspection, replacing/repairing an engine or transmission or towing/salvaging a broken down or crashed vehicle on any given day. You will be joining a team who values reliability, honesty and customer service.
We have 2 large workshops within 50m of each other with a 5 hoist/bay main front workshop and a high stud 5 bay rear workshop with secure tow and salvage yard currently with 2 extra hoists so we have plenty of room for growth which you will help to lead.
You will have the ability to:
1) Diagnose or supervise the diagnosis of complex vehicle faults.
2) An ability and passion to pass on your knowledge to apprentices and qualified technicians alike.
3) A willingness to keep up to date with modern and emerging technologies
4) Maintain 25-50% productivity (On less time sensitive work/WOFs/diagnosis/etc)
5) Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
6) Liaise directly with customers whose vehicle are in the workshop
What will you get in return:
1) If you tick all the boxes then expect minimum $30/hr. If you have factory training or significant proven scope/scan tool diagnostic experience including front of house/small business management then possibly more.

**** A class 2 full licence and/or Tow Endorsement (or a willingness/ability to obtain) would be a huge advantage but not essential****
The normal hours of work for this role are 40hrs per week between 8 - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
