Initial salvage lift, controlled sling rollover and loading vehicle onto transporter with Adam's Crane. This crane is a 60ton Grove with remote control. Nobody is in the crane when lifting and Adam does it all from his remote. This allows Adam to do his own rigging and have maximum visibility to control the lift and see risks. A successful salvage today up the Motueka Valley with the very professional assistance of Adam's Crane. Doing the lift from the farmers paddock avoided a road closure so luckily the owner allowed access.

Not our typical vehicle recovery but was a BMW 2018 I3 REX so technically its a car ;). Occupants all ok. Not much left when an electric vehicle fire burns so hot and the body is made of carbon fibre. Some of its still melted into the tarmac but I'm sure a road maintenance crew will tidy it up.

Well as of 1 August Richmond Tow and Salvage Limited has completed its first year of trading under new ownership. Not exactly the type of first year we were planning on but we have survived and even grown. Many thanks to all the existing customers that have stuck with us and to our many new customers. Under level 2 we are almost operating as normal for towing expect for social distancing and hygiene precautions. This means we can tow your vehicle but not yourself or passengers.

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown all employees are self isolating and Richmond Tow and Salvage/Nicholls Auto Centre (2019) will be closed apart from the following exceptions:
1) I alone will be available for Tow and Salvage 24/7 under strict operating conditions. Please utilise this service in the first instance via any breakdown programme you belong to. If you don't have a Roadside Assistance programme ring me 03 5439225 and we will make a plan that keeps both parties safe. For the protection of both parties please don't wave down or recruit the general public to assist you and if they offer please politely decline. If you have broken down in an unsafe location ring the Police first then me.
2) I will also be available for emergency repairs for essential workers vehicles. What repairs can be achieved depends on the nature of the fault, parts available and time frames will depend on existing commitments.

When the lockdown is over we will do our best to get through the inevitable backlog of WOF's, servicing and repairs as quickly as possible.

Please respect the rules of the COVID-19 lockdown so this is over as soon as possible.

A beautiful day to be out with nature. A long winch Friday to pull this stolen vehicle out from long grass. It was stolen in Picton but dumped in Richmond. Make sure your possessions are secure this holiday season folks!
