Most ECU’s have a large space to log any access or communication to the ECU in its lifespan, time date communication protocols, what’s changed, which tools and serial number accessing it if main dealer or diagnostic or unknown (tuning tools).
The previous tuner didn't realise this and activated the tamper detection.... specifically a P167F code that gets thrown and illuminates the check engine light.
After a bit of magic and the application of a special checksum routine the owner is now very happy to have this resolved on their F-Pace!
