Nothing beats the sound of a freshly overhauled Lycoming O-320-D2J coming back to life on the test stand

We are tracking the vital signs closely during this final acceptance run: Oil pressure is locked in, CHTs are running cool, and the magneto drops are crisp and well within limits.

Next up: cutting the oil filter to confirm a clean bill of health before clearing this powerplant for flight.

From 1976 to 2025, this notebook has been used to track jobs in the Engine Shop.
From just 22 jobs in 1976 to over 380 in 2025, the book has now been retired and has gone digital.
