Huge congratulations to everyone who was recognised at last night's New Zealand Drag Racing Association Awards Night. What a fantastic celebration of the people who make our sport what it is.

A special shout-out goes to our own Masterton Motorplex team, who took home the Best Crew award!

This recognition is thoroughly deserved and reflects the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and teamwork that go into every event. We're incredibly proud of every one of you. Congratulations!

A special visitor at Masterton Motorplex today!

We were delighted to welcome Australian drag racing star Brodie Zappia and his partner Alyisha Roser to Masterton Motorplex while they're visiting New Zealand.

At just 20 years of age, Brodie has already established himself as one of Australia's brightest young drag racing talents. After beginning in Junior Dragster at just eight years old, he progressed through Super Sedan before making the leap into the brutal world of Top Doorslammer - following in the footsteps of his legendary uncle, John Zappia.

In 2025, Brodie made history by becoming the youngest driver to win an NDRC professional category event, taking victory at the prestigious Westernationals at Perth Motorplex. He also claimed the WA Top Doorslammer State Championship, confirming his place among Australia's rising stars.

Alyisha, an apprentice auto electrician, shares Brodie's passion for motorsport, making today's visit a real pleasure.

It was great to show them around the facility, talk plenty of drag racing, and share what we're building here in New Zealand.

Brodie will also be the guest speaker at tonight's NZDRA Awards Night, and we know everyone attending will enjoy hearing about his journey through the sport.
