Big aluminium radiator in for some repairs. Couple of the pipes in the bottom tank had been cracked and someone had put a heap of bog over some damage in a couple of the tubes. The most time consuming part of this repair was burning and picking out the bog that had been squashed into the fins around the damaged tubes.

Bit of a stitch up on this one 🙄. Ordered the core for this off part number so it was here waiting when the radiator turned up. Last core put in this obviously made a bit short. Bottom sandwich plates were all good but someone had chopped the top ones to make it fit. No biggie just meant a bit of extra time making it right. Love marking and drilling holes 🙄🤣.

Hitachi rave at work today. Couple of hitachi excavators in for servicing this EX120-1 for a clean out and a EX150-1 for a new core.

Don’t know what I’d do without the help of my 3 heavy lifters. Between the old Nissan forklift, manual push around forklift and the hydraulic crane they take care of the heavy lifting for me💪🏻. Crazy to think back when I had Southland Radiators I only had an endless chain hanging off a beam.

Resoldering the end tubes on an excavator radiator that was in for a leak around the top tank. The old solder was cracked around the end tubes so needed cleaned up and redone.

You never know what’s hidden under the paint on an old bike tank. This triumph tank came in with a leak, ended up uncovering all sorts of old repairs. There was some lead build up, there was some filler, no I lie, there was a bucket of filler🤣🤣. Got it all sorted and I think the paint will have a far easier time making it look good now. No leaks and he won’t need a bucket of filler.

After 24 years repairing radiators it still amazes me that radiators can get this bad before they come in to be serviced.

Had a mark three Zephyr radiator in for a service today, took the top tank off and cleaned it out. Reassembled it, repaired a couple of leaks around tubes and it’s ready to go again.
