It's now halfway through the week and I'm still absolutely fizzing!!! With a very late decision to team up with Baypark Speedway and run with the Bulldogs in the NZ Team Champs up at Prestige Pools Waikaraka Family Speedway Ive been blown away with how the throw together team all out the mahi in and made a statement.
Massive thanks to Bryce Carter Motorsport for putting in the massive amount of work and getting the team together.
Thanks to Ross Ashby (Horse), your knowledge in the event is outstanding. I have learnt alot from you in just one weekend.
Shane Harwood for managing the team, you done an awesome job
And all the crew from all cars, you guys made in-between races much easier.
Unfortunately Friday we suffered from engine problems with the car deciding it didn't want to start 🤦 spent all day chasing out tails trying to find what was going on, after the car would start perfectly fine before getting to the track. We missed getting the car out for the parade and missed hot laps and the chance for the opening race against Kihikihi Crusaders. But thankfully the boys done the job and brought home the first chequered flag of the event. Finally got the car going for the second race and managed to get some hot laps in, but still having problems I watched from the infield.
We Qualified top 8 after Saturday nights racing!!! So bloody proud of you boys and girl, an awesome achievement to be apart of.
Friday night went back to Te Pahu to chase the root cause of the problem, believing with found the problem we loaded the car up at 5am and made our way home. Massive thanks to Jayden, Rebekah and Matt for the hours spent on the car that night and morning. The s**t we do for speedway hahah.
Saturday morning I go out and check on the car to make it's starting still, nothing... After about an hour tinkering round I found a way that will start the car which was very puzzling for everyone who seen it. We made our way to the track and got on with the day. First race up against the reigning champs the Auckland Alleycats, with the car not proving reliable I sat on the infield for this race again. The team raced their Hearts out but unfortunately didn't snag the chequered this time.
I jumped in one of the consolation races and caused a ruckus, having a bit of fun with Brad Ratbag Philpott and James Marshall. The car hooked up mean but threw a belt on the last corner, stalled out and didn't want to restart.

Rebekah Buchanan. Thank you for sorting my race gear out, making sure it was all ready for me and packing it away after the meetings. And towing me there and back Saturday.
