Christmas is here, and we have finished for the year at Gasoline Garage.

We wish to thank all our customers this year for supporting our workshop, we really do appreciate it.

We will be having a small break and the workshop will be open again from the 9th of January.

Here is a little slideshow of just some of the cars we have through the shop this year. We are grateful to have been trusted with all your vehicles, whether classic cars, or daily drivers.

6 September 2022. A freezing cold day today with the wind coming straight off the recent snowfall as close as Mt Tarawera. As chilly as it is, this cute little 1966 VW Beetle is a delightful ray of sunshine in the workshop today! 🌻🌞

✅We can now do brake machining on site.✅

We have a brand new brake lathe in the workshop, that enables us to machine disc rotors and brake drums.

Common problems with brake rotors we find are a scored or uneven braking surface, and warped discs. These problems can cause your steering to shake , squeaking or pulsation when braking. Good condition brakes could make all the difference between stopping safely or NOT STOPPING.!

This little Ford Focus came in for a service and while checking it over we found the front brakes were very worn. New brake pads and machining of the discs had it back on the road quickly and more importantly safer!

We had this cool 1941 Ford pick-up in recently to sort some tuning issues.
The engine in this is a fuel injected Ford V8, and requires specific processes to be able to correctly tune the engine.
We sorted out a couple of problems which affected the performance of the engine, and found a couple of things we recommended be tidied up in the near future.

When we service your car, we do more than just change the engine oil and filter.
We recently had this Mazda CX9 in for servicing, and upon inspection of the Air-Conditioning Pollen filter we found it was well overdue for replacement.
Essentially the Pollen filter also known as a Cabin filter, filters the incoming air into the heater/air-conditioning system and stops contaminants. Extremely helpful for Hayfever sufferers.
We have found in the past, filters so bad they had mold growing in them, not healthy at all!
A new filter is bright white in colour, you can see this one is far from a white colour 🙄

Another nice classic in the shop recently. This one a Ford XW GT replica, in for a Gasoline Garage tune-up.
Karl came all the way from Tauranga for us to tickle up his cool ride. We remedied some electrical issues and set up his carburettor correctly. Got a nice message from him after he got home saying how good the car was now going.
Always great to hear positive feedback.

Not all cars we look after, are classic or muscle cars... This is a family vehicle that spends a lot of time travelling Northland roads so needs to be safely maintained. We performed a service on the vehicle, and found an issue with the rear brakes, which we remedied. See pics for details. Thanks for trusting us with your waka Rhonda!
