Richard sim and I had a big 3 days in ohakune this week working on a QST30 30.5L V12 Cummins engine in a generator set. Many thanks to Kim young & sons for their hospitality and continued support. Hopefully one more day will have it running again once we source a couple of parts missing for the cooling system.

Sorry for our absence it’s been a while since we did much on here. So here’s a snippet of what we have been upto over the last year or so. 11 engine rebuilds, transmissions both power quad and ivt plus the odd other brand,engineering and feed wagon repairs plus a lot in between. We are so thankful to all our loyal and valued customers for your continued support of our business. We look forward to seeing you at some point this year.

To our valued customers.

Due to recent developments with Covid19 and our country going into an unprecedented Level 4 lock down this week we wanted to take the opportunity to communicate some key messages from Van der Drift Mechanical Ltd.

As all of our customers are involved in food production it is considered an essential service. As a business we are dedicated to you our customers. We are implementing measures so we can continue to support your business.

As of Wednesday March 25th our workshop will be closed to the public for a period of 4 weeks .

We will continue to operate from behind the scenes at the premises and carry out essential repairs and maintenance.

In order for us to carry out field service repairs or the supply of parts we ask that all our customers practice social distancing from our mechanics and stay at least 2 metres away at all times.

If you are dropping gear off at the Workshop we ask that you park it at the white gate up the driveway and turn off all air con.
