This weekend marked my debut in the GT2 class of GTRNZ. A real mix of emotions — the excitement of racing alongside new drivers and different chassis, and the disappointment of not quite hitting the pace I know both myself and the car are capable of.

I learned quickly that these guys do not muck around. They’ll take any opening they can get — as the last photos definitely show 😅. The intensity off the lights and how hard everyone pushes from lap one was a real eye-opener and made for a wild ride.

Time to get back to the drawing board, regroup, and put together a solid game plan for Round 3 in early January.

PROJECT AERO ☑️

Just finished installing a new front splitter and canards! Testing kicks off this Friday. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates so I can fine-tune the car for my GTRNZ debut. GT2 class is gonna be tough, but excited to drive alongside some new faces and some familiar ones!!

Dropped off the race car to the new workshop earlier today to have my new CSF radiator fitted into place and sorting out a proper mounting point for the front tow strap. Hopefully jumping behind the wheel again very soon!!

Finally got around to installing the Skunk2 Ultra Intake Manifold, paired with the 0.5L spacer and a new 74mm throttle body. Combined with the freshly installed Maxxecu Race ECU, I’m keen to see what at can squeeze out of her on the dyno next week.

Finally getting around to having my Maxxecu race installed with some vital sensors to help keep track on what’s happening with the engine while it’s on song.
