Exciting news - we have started work on the main arena. For all those that dont know - we have made the decision to completely renew the surface on the main arena so the diggers are in busy taking the old surface out. ARENA SURFACES NZ are busy finding the right mix of sand/stone etc to make the new arena. It will be upto a standard that will suit some of the bigger height showjumpers ( 1.20/1.30cm +) and also good enough for higher level dressage.
Once its done - watch this space for some top class shows coming to Kyrewood and combined with our xc paddocks we will put Kyrewood on the map as an amazing training and schooling facility.

This brings back memories to 2021 and the reason West Wind Equestrian was born. Only difference this time is i havent got the broken wrist or neck to go with it.
This is the result of an old grumpy horse giving me a good kicking last Saturday. Luckily its not broken - just supporting a really big hematoma on the back of my leg and possibly some little fractures in my toes.

Saturday 15th August - Elly-May Smith has spaces available for ConTact C.A.R.E sessions at Kyrewood.

What is ConTact C.A.R.E ?

ConTact C.A.R.E is the release of held pressure in bones from an unexpected impact, nothing is too big or small.

Horses - anything from a trip in the paddock to a float accident.
Humans - anything from walking into the towball of your car to a motor vehicle accident.

Why is it important to release this pressure?

Trapped pressure can result in a wide range of compensation responses, some examples being -

-Anxiety
-Scrambling in the float
-Lack of coordination/being disunited
-refusing jumps
-Inability to pick up leads
-unsoundness
- stiffness etc

- symptoms following concussion and headinjuries
- aches and pains
-vertigo/nausea/balance
-Anxiety
-restricted movement etc

The cost of a treatment is $120 + $10 groundfee / horse and typically last between 40-60 mins.

CHANGE OF DATE FOR INFO BRIEFING - Sat 12th Sept

WEST WIND EVENTING DEVELOPMENT SQUAD will be taking on new squad members from 1st Sept. We will be based at Kyrewood Equestrian Park. This squad is aimed at grass root level riders/horses/ponies (50cm to 95cm )
There will be support and coaching available to all squad members to help them progress through the levels and achieve their goals.
If you are interested and want to find out more about what we offer then come along to Kyrewood on SAT 12th SEPT at 3pm for an information briefing. Or msg /txt me for a chat

As we are holding our Combined Training Day on Sunday 9th August we have decided that it is an ideal opportunity for anyone going to Flaxmere Pc ODE on 16th August to come and practise their dressage test / showjumping or xc aswell.
The arenas etc will be open to casual riders after aprox 1.30pm and I will be available to run through your test with you or coach you on SJ or XC.
$25 blanket fee for all disciplines
$50 for an hr coaching covering all 3 disciplines or $25 for half hr in one discipline .
