With a large variety of work from batteries and starter motors to complex diagnosing and faulty finding no day is the same.

Hi everyone,

In today's world most of us know someone that has been affected by cancer. With this being the case a few of the crew here at Norman's have signed up to shave for a cure to support the amazing work that is done in this space and remind people that they're not alone during these tough times.

We are looking for a qualified/experienced Automotive Technician /Mechanic to join our friendly team in our Central Dunedin workshop. Normans Auto Electrical and Mechanical is a family owned, well established business which has been providing high quality work and great customer service at our centrally located site for over 40 years.

Skills Required

Must be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and likes to work with others in a team environment
Maintain high standards and have good time management skills
Good work ethics, be honest, punctual and reliable with a great attitude
WOF Certified preferred, but we would be happy to help you get qualified
Be an enthusiastic quick learner
Excellent verbal & written communication skills and high customer service skills
Hold a current NZ drivers Licence

A notice to our valued customers - we are operating under Alert Level 3 restrictions.
Please call us on 477-0793 to arrange a time for a WOF, service or any repairs that you may need!
We have contactless drop off and payment options - you do not need to enter the premises. We will be sanitising all contact points on your vehicle before and after work but we ask that you keep the inside of your vehicle clean to provide a safe environment for our technicians to work in.

Starting from $128 for most Japanese vehicles!
This includes 4L 10W/40 Semi-synthetic oil and filter replacement.
We will also do an underbody check and fluids check and advise on any work that may be needed.

Or we offer a FULL SERVICE starting from $174 which will include a detailed inspection including full vehicle scan, spark plug check and re-gap, all fluids topped up as required including transmission, battery test, drivebelt tension and more!

Thinking of buying a new car? Get a pre-purchase check done at Norman's for only $125 - at least $40 less than local testing stations!
We'll inspect all aspects of the vehicle and uncover any potential issues to factor into your decision and write a written report for you.

We are also specialists in Marine and Agriculture Electrical on top of our Auto Electrical and Mechanical services and we offer a WOF for $55.

A note to our customers that we are looking forward to returning to work on Tuesday the 28th of April!
We are here to serve and help you and are committed to doing the best job possible to keep you on the road.
We will have precautions in place to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.
This means that customers will need to call us on 477-0793 to arrange an appointment to ensure we don't have too many people on site at one time.
Customers will not be able to come inside the premises for the duration of Alert Level 3 and we will have a register in place for contact tracing as required by the Government.
Staff will have the necessary PPE (personal protective equipment) where required.
Vehicles and keys will be cleaned before and after being worked on and invoices will be emailed out instead of being handed to you.
Customers will also be required to pay via online banking, over the phone or in any other such contactless way.
We have a securely locked workshop and fenced yard for storing vehicles overnight as necessary.
We have three vehicles equipped for callouts and breakdowns and procedures for dealing with these will be communicated with each customer on a case by case basis.

Our mechanical workshop will also be up and running during this time for any mechanical repairs, servicing and WOFs.
Our price for WOFs currently remains the same at a low $55.
