With the news yesterday that NZ will be moving to alert level 4 within 48 hours we are assessing what we do over the next 4 weeks. In order to do our part we will be attempting to minimise the number of new vehicles seen over this period. This will allow time to complete several large jobs already in the workshop so i will be there. Please do not visit I can be contacted via phone, email and facebook. Automotive repair for essential services seems to be allowed to continue so we will be considering safety related issues on a case by case basis.
Remember please stay home if you are feeling unwell and wash your hands regularly.

Awesome weekend at world time attack challenge 2018. Unfortunately it decided to rain for the shootout sessions. Earlier on the previous lap record was broken though by a porsche.

A few action shots from the Rally of Otago 2018. Really proud that both cars that we were servicing for made it home. Just. Especially considering the ~ 50% attrition rate. Well done to James Mitchell for being the 1st otago team home, 14th overall, 2nd allcomers 4wd and 2nd NZRC cat5a and to Brodie Anderson for first blind driver home.

Congrats to James for taking out the OSCC championship this year, this year has been interesting with both of us new to the car but with the help and knowledge of a few others we have been able to keep it going and even improve the performance just a tad or perhaps alot. Thanks CoDrivr Link ECU Steve Murch- Motor Sport Engineering and Liqui-Moly New Zealand

James Mitchell, of Ocean View, has secured the Mike's Cars Otago Sports Car Club Speed Championship 2016-17 after the final leg of competition at Flagstaff on Saturday was cancelled due to the weather. Mitchell has been driving competitively for 12 years but this was his first year of 4WD racing and...

Happy volunteers day to everyone that makes what we love doing happen, no motorsport could happen without the hard work put in by the people that give up their free time to stand in the rain, blistering sun and horrific wind so every can have fun.

MotorSport New Zealand and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) have joined governing bodies around the world recognise the efforts of the sport’s volunteers.   Friday 12 May will be the inaugural Volunteer Day, coinciding with The Spanish Formula One Grand Prix, Wo...

Extremely happy to have finished such a tough Whangarei Rally, especially in 4th NZRC & 6th overall including the internationals.

One of those events that forces you to take a big breath and just carry on. Everything seemed uphill... the tight prep timeframe from Otago Rally, figuring out the first time logistics of the car & crew to get up north (thanks Howie Gardner), the extreme weather, challenging roads, time squeezed road sections, recce in the dark, car setup issues, tyre selection importance, the list just keeps going!

Huge thanks to Phil Hall for jumping on a plane from the UK and bringing wrc and other top level experience over on an event where we really needed help. Fantastic effort in and out of the car.

Thanks also to the Maxxis Tyres team who worked closely with us to make sure different compounds were available so we could make a last minute weather based decision with the help of Cooper Tyres Whangarei. The soft compound R19 held together amazingly well for such an abrasive surface.

This result has to be dedicated to our service crew for the weekend who truly dug deep to keep the car going. Extremely tight service times, horrible weather, and limited spares and equipment as we still come to grips with the Mazda made it a huge challenge. The list of things to fix was big every time but we always left service with a great car. Thanks Casey Irons (who also prepped the car), Jason Inglis, Richard Cathro. Absolute legends.

Looking forward to finding more pace in the car at Canterbury in June (and getting the car looking pretty again in the front!)

Rhys
