We are on the move!
It has been a long time planning, but this Friday will be our last day at 307 Vogel Street. An opportunity has been presented to run Sims Brothers - 2017 Ltd (SBG).

Our name may not be on the door at 29 Ward Street, Dunedin, but the vibe and outstanding customer service will be!

I'll be forwarding calls to SBG from Monday on, so with the new place, there is more staff, more room, more expertise, excellent customer service, and a grander customer experience!

So come see us and 29 Ward Street, behind the railway station through the big roundabout.

Happy Easter, everybody! You read it right! R Garage has taken this opportunity, with Easter and ANZAC falling close, to close the workshop and go on holiday. This 4WD came in for some road-worthiness repairs. New front brakes and rebuilt front hubs with bearings, seals, studs, pins and locking washers.

When checking the spark plugs on your vehicle turns a simple task into a regretful ordeal. 😅

Thank goodness that a few quiet words to the necessary Deities saved our afternoon, and we were able to return the vehicle with new spark plugs to the customer by the end of the day. 😌

As winter approaches, the conditions that your vehicle starts in will get colder and colder. Unfortunately, the outside temperature will affect your battery's ability to crank your car into life.

Have R Garage test your battery at your next service to make sure that your vehicle starts reliably in the depths of winter ❄️

Hey DIY oil changers, it's always best practice to change the sump plug washer when changing your oil. If the washer is too squished, DO NOT add silicone to seal it.

In this situation the only way forward was a new sump plug and washer.

That must have been one hell of an adventure 😂

Nissan Dualis came in with a knocking in the rear. It didn't take long to find the issue. The shock snapped at the top of the shaft and not providing sufficient dampening effect to the rear spring 😱
