🔧 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – THE WHEELHOUSE AUTO LIMITED 🔧

A heartfelt update from our family to yours. ❤️

It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will unfortunately have to postpone the opening of our mechanical workshop, which was originally scheduled for 23 October 2026.

This is certainly not the announcement we wanted to make, and we are genuinely devastated to be sharing this news.

Over the past several weeks, we have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to get our workshop ready for opening. We have invested a significant amount of money into quality tools, professional equipment, machinery and setting up a workshop that we can be proud of and that our customers can trust.

Unfortunately, despite actively recruiting and offering above-average pay for a qualified mechanic, we have now experienced two separate situations where employment arrangements have fallen through after we had made plans and commitments around them.

As a small, family-owned and operated business, these setbacks have been incredibly difficult for us.

We have continued paying rent, rates, operating expenses and other ongoing costs while doing everything possible to get our doors open. Like many small business owners, we have put an enormous amount of time, money, hard work and personal sacrifice into making this dream a reality.

But we are NOT giving up! 💪

Our workshop is still here, our equipment is ready, and our determination to bring Christchurch an affordable, honest and reliable mechanical workshop has not changed.

However, we refuse to rush our opening or compromise on the quality of workmanship our customers deserve.

We will announce a new opening date once we have successfully employed the right qualified mechanic to join our team.

🔧 WE ARE STILL HIRING – FULL-TIME QUALIFIED MECHANIC! 🔧

We are actively looking for an experienced, fully qualified mechanic to join The WheelHouse Auto Limited.

✅ Competitive, above-average pay based on experience
✅ Full-time, permanent position
✅ Modern, well-equipped workshop
✅ Quality tools and equipment provided
✅ Opportunity to help establish and grow a new workshop
✅ Supportive, family-owned business
✅ Christchurch – 3/317 Blenheim Road

Apply through our SEEK advertisement:

If you are a qualified mechanic, or know somebody who might be interested, PLEASE tag them in the comments, share this post or send them our advertisement. Every share genuinely helps our small business.

❤️ TO OUR CUSTOMERS, FOLLOWERS AND SUPPORTERS

We sincerely apologise to everyone who has been looking forward to our opening.

We know many of you have been following our journey, sharing our posts, recommending our business and supporting us along the way. We cannot thank you enough.

When we finally open our doors, we promise you:

🔹 Honest, transparent workmanship
🔹 Competitive and affordable labour rates
🔹 Quality parts, oils and equipment
🔹 Professional and reliable mechanical services
🔹 Friendly, genuine customer service
🔹 A family-owned business that genuinely cares about its customers

Our goal has never been to become the most expensive workshop in Christchurch. Our goal is to provide quality mechanical work at fair, affordable prices while treating every customer with honesty and respect.

This is a setback, not the end of our journey.

We have worked far too hard and come far too far to give up now.

Thank you, Christchurch, for continuing to believe in us. We WILL get there, and when we do, we intend to make it worth the wait. ❤️

Our vehicle sales business will continue operating as normal throughout this time.
