HMR R26b custom endurance block.

The goal here is to avoid using bandaids like heavy fuels just keep it reliable and/or excessive clearances that heavily affect NA power output.
Having spent 12+ years with several different billet plate designs plus my newly acquired knowledge of investment casting techniques. One could say the design goal post have shifted somewhat it recent months.
The coolant will enter and exit via the centre plate similar to Mazda’s quad rotor design. Oil will feed in via a manifold along the top of the block giving allowing more realestate for coolant flow to the plug area. There will also be additional external dwells to aid block alignment so OEM 13b tension will be used. The first design for testing purposes will have OEM block placement with final design having the port vertical so plugs on the bottom. This will allow a lot more flexibility in the back of the alloy 767b build.

Exciting times ahead after diving down yet another rabbit hole! This one has been into the world of investment casting and electroplating for the last couple of years.

My first rotor housing featuring a few HMR design upgrades is finally off to the foundry in the morning.
I’ve considerably improved the coolant surface area and flow around the spark plugs. There is now an open slot in the middle of the tension bolt bosses for coolant flow as well. Difficult to see in a photograph.
I’ve chosen to leave the ports blank at this stage and machine these as a final process. This is mainly due to the difficult machine honing process needed after the ceramic coating is applied. No their will not be any sort of barrel or hand sanders used mainly because my shop doesn’t have a backyard.
Still lots of work to do and many unseen issues to solve no doubt but happily taking another step forward. (Just wish they were bigger ones)

Three more smart people have opted for a proven reliable oiling system in their builds this week.
Two more 20b’s and one 13b Henshaw Billet DrySump kits are ready to ship out today closely guarded by Felix the dog.
Happy days coming up for these guys to enjoy that feeling of Rotary Power!
So remember if your oil pressure drops with RPM it’s genuinely going to end badly and those pumps designed for smaller blocks don’t work on bigger ones @ higher RPM.
We aim for somewhere between 105-115psi for a stable reliable rotor @ RPM.
