Not every day you come across a build like this!
An ex NZV8 Magazine cover car from back In 2007! This early 2000s-built Holden HT Monaro is a true street machine that has stood the test of time. Packing a tough 406ci SBC backed by a bulletproof Turbo 400 transmission, this classic delivers the kind of V8 performance that never gets old.
We were honoured to be trusted by a customer all the way from Invercargill to Christchurch to carry out the next stage of this build. That kind of trust means a lot to us, and we were committed to delivering a result worthy of the journey.
The Monaro initially came to us with the goal of improving its steering and road manners. After a thorough assessment, we found that, as the car had originally been built as more of a drag-focused vehicle—where turning corners wasn't exactly the priority—the current front-end setup would require significant changes to achieve the desired result. Unfortunately, those modifications simply weren't the most cost effective , so after discussing the options with the owner, we focused our efforts on delivering improvements that offered the best value.
The engine bay received a fresh makeover, replacing the high-maintenance chrome with a clean black finish that's not only tougher looking but much easier to maintain, We also spent time doing what we do best - refining the tune, improving drivability and efficiency while uncovering even more power than the car had when it first arrived.
While we had the Monaro in our care, we were also able to coordinate a few additional jobs for the owner, including some minor reupholstery work and rust repairs, ensuring the car left us in even better condition than when it arrived.
The end result is an iconic Aussie muscle car that looks cleaner, performs stronger, and turns heads where ever it goes.
A huge thank you to our customer for putting their trust in us—we're proud to have been part of this Monaro's story.
