With deep sadness we advise the sudden passing of Lyndsay Gray alias “Rat” or “Rattly “on the 10th of August a fellow PBDC member from the 80’s



An avoid drag racer in the late 70’s/80’s with his Morris Minor 302 V8 van and later with the Ron Collett built Fiat altered ,Lyndsay’s passion for the sport never dwindled .An active club member always helping with working bees and enjoying the social side of the club



In retirement Lyndsay decided to locate to Kawerau, closer to family and the 2 dragstrips, also taking both cars with him. A knowable chap, like a walking encyclopaedia on the state of drag racing in NZ and overseas, on the drivers and their cars



Lyndsay had been a member of several hot rod clubs and will be sadly missed throughout NZ. A good bu**er



Our condolence reaches out to partner Averil and family, daughter Siemon and boys Bevan and Aaron and a great Grandad.

That’s a LOT of confidence coming from a bunch of cars that need three pumps of the throttle, a small prayer and someone named Barry standing under the bonnet before they’ll start. 😭💀

But alright then…

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. 😏🏁

So here’s the call.

🚨 PBDRC RACERS — GET YOUR CARS AND BIKES READY. 🚨

Because if the Gassers reckon they can just roll through the gates, make enough noise to rearrange everyone’s internal organs and declare the place theirs…

THEY MIGHT NEED REMINDING WHO LIVES HERE. 😂🔥

Bring the drag cars.

Bring the bikes.

Bring the street cars.

Bring the ridiculous builds that probably started with “this seemed like a good idea at the time.”

🏁 Oi South Island… this one’s for us! 🏁

Right… for the first time EVER, the IHRA AGM & Prizegiving is actually coming to the South Island! 🤯

So we’ve officially run out of excuses… no more “it’s too far” (unless you’re in Invercargill… we’ll let you have that one 😜).

You don’t have to be collecting a trophy to come along. Come for the catch-up, the stories that somehow get better every year, and the chance to remind everyone why South Island racers are the best. 😉

If we want to keep the AGM and Prizegiving alternating between the North and South Islands, we need to show up. Otherwise the North Islanders will think we all hibernate for winter… and we really can’t let them have that win. 😂
