SOT 2026 day 2 - A day with lows and highest of highs. A 5:30am start to have time to pick up some bits and bobs to repair Andy Taylors bike. New fuel lines done and running by 8am. π Tested and going fine π SS Open race 1 - I was pushing hard in lap 1 to keep in touch with Glenn and Steve on their 1100s. Not enough heat in the tyre through Nana's and lost the front. I thought, I got this, but no I didn't and down I went. π Airbag vest worked great and bike not too bad. All good, sort of. A bit of a panic to get gear and body checked out as I had been invited to ride one of the most iconic bikes on the planet during the lunch break. Yes a Britten V1000 π€© What a privilege and awesome experience. π Huge thanks to Jeff (the owner), Craig and the team. By the time I had come back to earth the Mecanica garage team boys had my bike fixed. Awesome guys π. A 9th in F2 was a little disappointing but still great fun. I was struggling with front grip and my brake lever wasn't right, which made me quite cautious. I just wanted to bring it home. A new front slick, some brake pads and a few tweaks and we're all set for tomorrow. Congratulations to Steve Gibbons bringing his Mecanica M1100RS home in first and clocking up a few 1:39s along the way. π
