🚗 YOUR CAR SURVIVED WINTER… BUT HOW? 😂

Winter has definitely put our cars through their paces! 🥶🌧️

Cold starts, wet roads, potholes, heaters working overtime, short trips and plenty of extra wear and tear can all take their toll.

Now that we’re heading into spring, it’s a great time to give your car a little TLC and make sure it’s ready for the warmer months ahead. 🔧☀️

Here’s a few things worth checking:

🛞 Tyres — tread, pressure and overall condition
🛑 Brakes — any squeaking, grinding, pulling or changes in braking?
🔋 Battery — winter can be hard on batteries, especially if yours is getting older
🌧️ Wipers & washer fluid — because clear visibility is a must
💧 Fluids — oil, coolant, brake fluid and other essential levels
💡 Lights — headlights, brake lights and indicators
❄️ Heating & cooling — make sure your A/C and cooling system are ready for summer
🔧 Suspension & steering — potholes aren’t exactly kind to either!

And don’t forget. if your car has been making a strange noise, feeling different to drive, or showing you a warning light, don’t ignore it and hope it disappears. 👀

FIRST UP…. THE BOSS 😁

Behind every good workshop is someone who keeps everything moving sufficiently and smoothly, and for us, that’s Lloyd, our Owner & Operator.

You’ll usually find him right where he belongs, on the tools, getting his hands dirty and keeping things running. 👨‍🔧

Lloyd has been a mechanic since 2008, bringing 18 years of experience to the trade, and has owned and operated our workshop since 2014, that’s 12 years of putting his heart and soul into the business. 🧰

Over the years, he’s built the workshop around good workmanship, honest advice and looking after customers like they’re part of the family.

He’s the one making the big decisions, solving the tricky problems and, more often than not, getting stuck into the work himself!

And when he’s not in the workshop? He’s still thinking about it. 😂 Lloyd calls the workshop his “second baby” and if you know him, you’ll know exactly what he means. ❤️

It’s more than just a business to him. It’s something he’s built, grown and poured years of hard work into.

We thought it was about time you got to know the faces behind the business. ☺️

🔧 YOUR CAR CAN’T TELL YOU WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT… BUT WE CAN INVESTIGATE. 👨‍🔧

Ever brought your vehicle in for one thing and then been told, “Hey, we’ve found a couple of other things that need attention”?

It can be easy to think, “How did that turn into all of that?”

But here’s the thing…

You can’t always judge a vehicle by what you can see, hear or feel from the outside.

It’s a bit like going to the doctor. 👨‍⚕️

You walk in and say, “My stomach hurts.”

The doctor can look at you, have a chat and make an educated guess, but they don’t just stop there. They might order blood tests, scans, X-rays or other investigations before they can properly understand what’s happening.

Your vehicle is much the same. 🚗

A technician can listen to a noise, feel something unusual on a test drive or see a warning light, but sometimes the real answer isn’t obvious until the vehicle is properly inspected, tested and, where necessary, components are removed or taken apart.

That’s why our technicians are a little bit like doctors for cars. 🩺🔧

They investigate the symptoms, test the systems, inspect the components and work their way towards finding the actual cause, rather than simply treating what’s obvious on the surface.

And fun fact… 👀

There are even stethoscope-style tools specifically designed for vehicles that technicians can use to listen to bearings, pulleys, engines and other components to pinpoint where a noise is coming from!

So when you bring your car in for a service, brake job, noise, warning light or any other issue and we discover something else along the way…

It doesn’t necessarily mean something suddenly went wrong.

Sometimes it simply means we’ve finally had the opportunity to look properly. 🔍

We’d much rather find something while it’s small, explain exactly what we’ve found and let you make an informed decision, than ignore it and have you come back later with a much bigger problem.

Trust the process. Trust the inspection. Trust your technician. 🔧❤️

Because sometimes, your car needs a doctor too. 😂🚗🩺
