Project Search: A Future 500GP Build? π€π
Very early days on this one, but let's see what's out there...
I'm not sure how many people who follow my restorations and race bike builds share my fascination with the wild world of Grand Prix machinery, especially the legendary 500cc era. But every now and then a project comes along that makes you stop and think, "that could be something very special."
An innovative group of engine builders at BRC Racing are currently developing what could become a very interesting 500cc GP-style machine. While it's not a factory recreation of any particular motorcycle, it captures much of the spirit, engineering, and insanity that made the 500GP era so iconic.
As most of you know, the D6M workshop is already home to a factory-spec Honda RS250 and an Aprilia RSW125 project. The idea of eventually adding a modern interpretation of a 500GP machine to sit alongside them is certainly an intriguing one.
I've attached a link to the Italian article, along with some images that caught my attention.
What do you think?
β’ Would you build a modern 500GP-inspired machine?
β’ Two-stroke or four-stroke?
β’ V4, twin, or something completely different?
β’ Which GP bike from history would you recreate if money was no object?
Interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this one. π
