With next Monday being my last day before retirement, I would personally like to thank everyone that has been involved with Kolor Ka Painters, either employed or customer related. Thankyou to my wife maureen who has had to go thru everything i did and believeing in me. To my family i thank you for your imput in the early middle and last days of the business. During the 35 years I have met and worked with some awesome people. I wish Mike and Leah Knowles all the best in there new venture and also Tawny and Layden who will also continue to look after you all along side them.
So to all of the above enjoy your Xmas Season, and all the best for the new year
Saturday night send off will be the end of the era for me, but lots to do in the future.

It surely has been an awesome career in the automotive trade, but it’s finally time to put the feet up. 54 and just short of 55 years in the trade has gone so fast. 34 years owning Kolor Ka Painters and now time to move on into retirement. Celebrating 34 years servicing the Area of South Otago in the collision repair industry.
Years have gone so fast.
There are many people, staff and customers who have helped us get to this achievement.
Please comment if you have worked for us during those years, as I cannot remember each one.

After 53 years in the Auto Refinishing Trade, which has included 33 years owning and operating the paintshop, i am stepping down this August, to work just 2 to 3 days a week, which will allow Matthew to step up to the management role of running the workshop.
This will allow me to come to any decisions about retiring in the near future, and to have the time to complete some of the bigger jobs that have been booked in.
It has always been my goal and commitment, that one of our sons, would one day continue to carry on and grow the business, and to this day, it has been worth it.
Matthew steps into his new role, equipped with over 20 years experience, and along with Tawny Frisby, our number 1 top painter, and Layden Winter our 2 year apprentice, the workshop is in good shape to continue on.
Charissa our workshop admin, who handles office duties, completes the package.
i will step back knowing everything is in good operating hands, and they will continue to provide an efficent, reliable service to our existing and new customers.
Thank you to all the people ive met, those that have become good friends, those who have given me good advice, and those who have supported Kolor Ka Painters during the last 30 years.
Special thanks to those who taught me my trade, and gave me leadership roles within there business, which has helped me get to own my own business.
All the people i have worked along side over the last 5 decades, thankyou, as i have gleamed from you little aspects of life skills, and practices.
Thankyou to past and present employees, of Kolor Ka, for being part of the business, and helping us get to where we are now.
Massive thanks to my wife Maureen, who has had to endure my failings at times, but allowed me to work away to become who i am today.

It appears that Resene Automotive in Dunedin don’t need any extra business. Pretty poor service. Ordered 3 days ago paid for following day on invoice and still no sign of it. We’re only 2 hours away. Now they won’t answer there phone since 10.30 am today. Just cost us lost days. It will surely be the last purchase.

Been a while posting any progress within the workshop, as things have been quite busy.

Just a update that we are still doing matched colors in Aerosols, for those who wish to tidy up any small areas.

End of 2023 we said farewell to our employee Ziggy, who had been with us for quite a while, as he entered into retirement. All the best buddy.
Also the beginning of 2023 our latest employee Layden started his apprenticeship with us and doing really well, and totally committed.
Tawny, our No 1 painter is still knocking out great work in the booth, and hounds the heck out of us to speed it up. This guy is a surprising man of talent who gives 100%.
53 years in the trade for me is slowly catching up, and eventually soon will come to an end, but we will just wait for now.
But Kolor Ka Painters will still be doing it in the dust and fumes, for quite awhile yet.

The team at Kolor Ka Painters, wish all our customers, a very enjoyable holiday and relaxing break over the xmas/new year period.
Our workshop will close 3 pm Friday the 22nd December and will reopen hopefully all refreshed on the 15 th January 2024. Thanks to you all for being loyal customers and thanks team for your massive effort during the past year.
