🚗 Rural Reality Check: When was the last time you checked your tyres? 🚜
Living around Helensville, South Head, Parakai, or Kaukapakapa means enjoying the incredible scenery & lifestyle but it also means dealing with unsealed metal roads, gravel driveways, chip seal, and those inevitable potholes along SH16!
Out here, your tyres take a absolute beating compared to town driving. A quick 2-minute check can be the difference between getting home safely or being stuck waiting on the side of the road:
🛞 Tread Depth: Metal and rough gravel chew through tread quickly. Deep tread is essential for gripping wet, loose backroads.
🛞 Tyre Pressure (PSI): Soft, under-inflated tyres are sitting ducks for sharp stones and pothole pinch-punctures. Check them while they are cold!
🛞 Sidewall Cuts & Chipping: Rough tracks like to bite. Look out for cracks, bulges, or chunks of rubber missing from the sidewall.
🛞 Don't Forget the Spare: Out past cell service or deep on the farm, a flat spare tyre is no help to anyone. Make sure your spare is inflated and ready to go.
