New Winner boats take two to three months from placing an order to receiving the boats. We usually place an order in October to arrive in January and May/June to arrive in Sept/Oct. Please let WetnWindy know if you are thinking of getting a boat, as shipping multiple boats together is cheaper. See wetnwindy.com for more details.

It is essential to have a good fitting bouyancy aid when sailing. It must allow you to move easily without riding up. For dinghy sailing the padding is distributed on the front and back allowing you to move your arms without rubbing on the jacket. Its size should be matched to your weight. On special are all of our buoyancy aids. Baltic buyancy aids come in the following sizes 25kg to 40kg, 40kg to 50kg, 50-70kg and 70kg to 80kg. They have been a favourite for dinghy sailors for years. All are now $139 until after the long weekend or until sold out. We also have Spin lock buoyancy aids also on special at $139.

The Aims Games mark the start of the Optimist sailing season and can be one of the most challenging events of the year often with brisk cold Westerlies and tricky tides to understand. This year was no exception with all three days being windy and with up to 35 knots gusts on day2.

Team Winner sailor Harry Strang dominated the event with six wins followed by Jeffrey Du and Noah Peterson also sailing Winner Optimists. The first 10 boats were all Winners making it a great start to the season.

Milla Holland again in a Winner hull was first girl overall. Also both first Year 7 podiums were sailing Winner hulls. Well done Annika Wells and Zac Loader.

Harry used a New Winner boat, DSK foils and a One Sail and was sailing tactically well as well as fast!

The exchange rage to the Euro has moved to 1.895 the highest for years. This leads to more expensive goods from Europe. A new Winner hull in Denmark is Eu4671.20 which equates to NZ$8851.92 and the full boat, trolley, rig, covers etc. including a JSail is Eu6899.40 equivalent to NZ$13074.36. These are the Danish retail prices and do not include shipping to New Zealand.

Second hand boats should reflect these prices hence do not be surprissed to see used boats with sails and all the gear at $10k. They represent great buying.

For those wanting to buy new, we do have a new Winner boat in stock, imported at a lower exchange rate and currently for sale in our Winter Sale at $11500 (usually $12995). It includes everything you need to be on the water (excluding the sail) and sailing at the front of the fleet. Contact Neil on 021 724577 to learn more. When this is sold, the cost of new boats will all be dependant on the exchange rate and cost of shipping!
