BMW Race Driver Series
What a day!
The event started with me in David Whitburn’s car, but with an engine issue during qualifying. Leaving us to drive back to the workshop and swap to my 335i. We made it back to the track just as the previous race was on, thanks to an incredible team effort.
Getting the car off the trailer, mounting the wheels, fitting the bumper, and passing scrutineering all in record time was a true testament to the dedication of everyone involved. A huge thank you to the people that helped this wouldn’t have been possible without you.
I made it to the race and got 20 minutes in, but a misunderstanding about the safety car and pit stop procedures led to an early pit stop. After waiting the required 45 seconds, I realized I had to redo the stop once the official pit window. Bu**er up on my part
Determined to recover, I pushed hard. With 12 minutes remaining, another safety car came out, giving me a much needed opportunity. At that point, I was in fifth place. Once racing resumed, I fought my way through the field, reaching second on the final lap.
Then, at the final turn, I made my move securing the win! 🏆
