Day 2 done and dusted! We don’t do shows in NZ like they spend on shows in AU. Big spend with big expectations and Australia is going nuts with battery rebates right now so it’s like witnessing a feeding frenzy.

So many white boxes they all start to blend into one generic box of same same. Software for the end-user experience and installation ease is what sets apart the good from the bad.

Some companies we’ve been watching are showing good results and are firming up their backend support so plenty of interesting opportunities ahead.

Solar & wind priority gets to work when plugged into shore. It then ensures that solar & wind power are used to charge the battery, while the shore power is only used to prevent the battery from becoming too deeply discharged.

Who doesn't appreciate these chilly mornings? The sky is clear, the temperature is low, and the sun is shining bright. However, if you've installed a Lithium battery in your motorhome, there's a small snag. Despite your battery supplier's claim that the Lead Acid charger you have is perfect, charging at 14.4v, there's an important factor they overlooked. At 3 degrees outside, the temperature compensation kicks in, causing your Lithium batteries to charge at 15.5 volts. Unfortunately, this triggers the high voltage alarm on the Lithium BMS, resulting in a system shutdown. This happened this morning to someone in Twizel who was using SOK batteries and encountered the same issue. Even though the supplier assured them everything was fine and the lead-acid charger was a good brand and would do the job. It's worth reading our recent article on why using a Lead Acid charger on Lithium batteries is not ideal. You can find the article here:

What a crazy busy year it has been for everyone. Time to recharge the batteries and enjoy some family time over the summer and Christmas/New Years break. See you all in the New Year, we are back on the 16th after a well deserved rest.
