Wellchild Tamariki Ora nurse Manjani Ravichandran
My name is Manjani, I have been living in Aotearoa for 25 years. I am originally from Singapore and moved to Te Puke from Auckland 2 years ago. I live in Te Puke with my husband, my two daughters, and my son who are all under the age of 4 years old. Being a wife and a mum is one of the most challenging jobs that I have ever had, but it is also very rewarding.
I have been a Registered Nurse for 5 years. My nursing background comes from aged care, hands and plastics, and orthopaedics. I am now the Wellchild Tamariki Ora nurse at Ngā Kākano. I am also studying my postgraduate certificate in Health Care Specialty Nursing Well Child Tamariki Ora.
Part of my role as your Tamariki Ora nurse is doing regular health checks of your tamariki in your home, at kohanga reo or early childcare centre, at Ngā Kākano or wherever you feel comfortable. It is a free service, and it includes health education, hearing and vision, nutrition, immunization, childhood safety and injury prevention, support against family violence and safety options, whānau support, advocacy, antenatal health education, and smokefree environments education.
I am here to encourage māmā and their whānau with their pepi and tamariki. We would love to be part of your hapu and tamariki under 5s journey.
We deliver whānau-based care. I am based in the building of Ngā Kākano Family Health Services where other community services are also available. These include our GP clinic, Whānau Ora, Asthma & Respiratory, Mental Health & Addiction Services, Tamariki/ Rangatahi, and Mirimiri/ Rongoā.
If you or someone you know is a new or expecting māmā, please complete a referral on our website www.ngakakano.org.nz, or give me a call at our office on 07 573 0660 to find out more about how I can help you.
Ngā mihi
Manjani
