OTEL (Onehunga Transport Engineering Limited) is well known for its high quality customised truck builds. We also offer repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers and a variety of general engineering services.
Types of truck builds include; flat deck, tippers, crane trucks, curtain siders, power line trucks, EWPs, service trucks, traffic management, aerial device trucks, vegetation bin trucks, etc.
You will assist the heavy fab team in producing accessories, frames, toolboxes and large sheet metal projects for our customised truck bodies.
You will be part of a team of 20+ welders and fabricators.
We are looking for someone with;
> Proficient in TIG and MIG welding of sheet metal and/or mild steel.
> Previous experience in the truck body building industry.
> High quality of workmanship
> Good time management, prioritisation and planning
> Must have a 'can do' attitude to problem solving and creative design
> Excellent listening and learning skills – open to new ideas and coaching
> Strong inter-personal skills and use your initiative to be self-led
> Work to specifications and be confident in reading CAD drawings and dimensions
> Experience in general engineering and repairs
> Have your own tools
> Be DRUG FREE!

A full Class 1 licence is a must.
A Class 2 truck driving licence would be an advantage but not essential
Your strong work ethic, hardworking, reliable nature and team focus combined with your punctual and well organised approach will be valued here. You must be committed to health and safety.
