What is an air filter?

The air filter is designed to prevent environmental contamination from entering your engine,
i.e dust and dirt etc .
It can get blocked up due to catching these contaminants, and protecting the engine can become harder.
Having a dirty air filter can stop the amount of air getting into the engine which can lead to issues with the emissions control system.
By not replacing your air filter regularly, it can begin to cause performance issues in your car, resulting in a check engine light.
