🏆 A superb end to the season for V, securing the 2026 IMA Mediterranean Maxi Inshore Challenge title following a strong performance at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.

A second place in the Maxi 1 class, behind Sir Peter Ogden’s Jethou, was enough to seal the championship, with both V and Jethou racing with Southern Spars masts.

V’s title caps an impressive season, including a class win at the IMA Maxi European Championship in Sorrento, victory in the inshore racing at Loro Piana Giraglia, and second place at the Rolex IMA Maxi World Championship in Porto Cervo.

Congratulations to V on the championship title and to both teams on a fantastic finish in Saint-Tropez. 👏

As sailing yachts grow larger and more ambitious, the rig has to be considered from the earliest stages of a project.

In BOAT International’s “New Heights” feature, Southern Spars’ Sam Fortescue discusses the engineering behind modern systems and the importance of bringing rig, sail and yacht designers together early.

The article visits our facility in Poland, where work is underway on the twin DynaRig system for Echo Yachts’ 58-metre adventure catamaran, Project ASC58. Its automated sail handling is designed to let a single operator set and furl the sails at the touch of a button.

A win for Luna Rossa!

Luna Rossa Team versus Emirates Team New Zealand is becoming one of the stories of the road to the 38th America's Cup.

After beating the Kiwis in the Sardinia Preliminary Regatta final, Luna Rossa Team brought that form to home waters in Naples. The two teams have been at the front of the AC40 fleet once again, in another compelling contest.

Congratulations to both teams, looking forward to next years drama.

Race Day 1 in Naples gave us a close start to the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Preliminary Regatta.

ARC Team USA won the opening race, before Luna Rossa 1 took the second to lead the standings overnight. With Emirates Team New Zealand and ARC Team USA tied on points behind them, there’s plenty to race for on Day 2.

The AC40 fleet is back on the Bay of Naples today. We’ll be watching to see who finds their rhythm as the regatta unfolds.

A morning of forward thinking in Monaco.

At our annual Southern Spars breakfast, industry leaders came together to discuss the Rig of 2030 and consider how emerging technologies, materials and design developments could shape the next generation of high-performance rigs.

The Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta begins today in Naples, starting with an official practice day on the Bay of Naples.

Nine AC40s are preparing for three days of racing from Friday, offering an early indication of how each team is developing on the road to the America’s Cup in 2027.

The road to the 38th America’s Cup continues in Naples this week.

From 24–27 September, the teams will compete in AC40s for the Preliminary Regatta, every AC40 will race in strict one-design configuration. Identical equipment places the emphasis on the four-person crew: two helms and two trimmers working together at speeds exceeding 45 knots.

The boats use automatic flight control and advanced battery-powered hydraulics to operate the sails, rotating mast and foil systems, without the need for a separate power crew.

Every AC40 is equipped with an 18-metre D-section carbon mast from Southern Spars and multistrand composite rigging from Future Fibres an integrated rig package developed for the demands of high-speed foiling.

We’re looking forward to four days of fast and closely contested racing in the Bay of Naples.
