BeCool - the first Swan 128 and a remarkable expression of performance, scale and elegant design.

Southern Spars supplied the complete mast and furling boom package, including a 57-metre carbon mast manufactured in New Zealand and an 18-metre furling boom produced in Spain. The rig is completed by Future Fibres laterals and fore and aft stays.

Built by Nautor Swan and designed to combine effortless cruising with genuine sailing performance, BeCool represents close collaboration across an international team of specialists.

What a week at Cowes. ⛵

It was a glorious week, full of close racing on the Solent and a genuinely vibrant atmosphere with some great people, colleagues and friends across the sailing community. Cowes Week definitely delivered everything and more that makes this event so special.

Southern Spars masts were out in force on the water and performed strongly throughout the week, but some of the best moments happened ashore too.

A particular highlight for members of our team was the privilege of meeting HRH The Princess Royal during the week - a memorable moment during one of the most historic events in the sailing calendar.

Congratulations to everyone who raced, supported the teams and helped make Cowes Week 2026 such a brilliant week on and off the water.

🏆 Victory at the 44th Copa del Rey MAPFRE!

Congratulations to Mauro Gestri and the Vudu team on winning the highly competitive ABANCA ORC 0 class in Palma.

Vudu delivered an impressively consistent series, securing three race victories and finishing the regatta with a commanding 14 points.

Further strong results for Southern Spars masts saw:

🥇 Vudu – 1st overall
🥉 Kilara II – 3rd overall
4️⃣ Caballo Loco – 4th overall

From the proven TP52 platform to the new-generation Wallyrocket51, it was excellent to see Southern Spars rigs performing across the front of the fleet.

Congratulations to the owners, crews and shore teams on a memorable week of racing in Palma Bay.

🏆 A fantastic finish to North Sails Cowes Week for Southern Spars.

The IRC 0 podium was a clean sweep for Southern Spars masts:

🥇 Beau Geste – 1st
🥈 Ino Veritas – 2nd
🥉 Gladiator – 3rd

It has been a tremendous week of racing on the Solent, with close competition, changing conditions and some excellent performances throughout the fleet.

Congratulations to Beau Geste, Ino Veritas, Gladiator, and to all the teams who competed this week.

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.

Cowes Catch Up with Nick Bice | Grand Prix Sales Manager at Southern Spars. ⛵

After a spectacular first few days on the water, Nick gave us an insight into why Cowes is one of the best events on the calendar. From the people, the performance and the atmosphere, it’s a must for all sailors.

With only a couple days left on the water, Nick touches on racing with Standfast and their tightly matched competitors, Callisto. As well, what it’s like battling the conditions of the Solent. 🌬

What a spectacular few days it’s been at Cowes Week.

From close racing on the water to catching up with friends, owners, crews and partners ashore, North Sails Cowes Week continues to remind us why it remains one of sailing’s most iconic events. The competition has been fierce, the atmosphere exceptional, and it’s fantastic to see so many outstanding yachts showcasing their performance throughout the regatta.

A huge thank you to everyone who makes this event so special. We look forward to seeing how the racing unfolds over the coming days and wish all the crews the very best for the rest of the week.

What a start to the Copa del Rey MAPFRE! 🇪🇸⛵

The Bay of Palma is once again delivering exceptional racing, with highly competitive fleets, close battles and plenty still to play for.

We’re particularly proud to see yachts powered by Southern Spars masts and Future Fibres rigging out on the racecourse, competing at the highest level and putting their rigs to work in the demanding conditions Palma is renowned for.

A fantastic showcase of performance sailing, talented crews and advanced marine technology.

We’ll be following the Southern Spars fleet closely as the racing continues. Good luck to all the teams for the days ahead.

A fantastic start to North Sails Cowes Week, with Southern Spars-equipped yachts performing strongly across the fleet.

Beau Geste currently leads IRC Zero, while Callisto sits at the top of IRC 1 following an impressive opening to the regatta.

Two hundred years of racing. One of sailing’s most celebrated starting lines.

Today the first cannon will sound for the bicentenary edition of North Sails Cowes Week, beginning seven days of close competition on the Solent.

From its first regatta in 1826 to today’s high-performance fleets, Cowes Week has remained an enduring test of sailors, yachts and equipment. Southern Spars is proud to see our technology represented on the water as this historic event enters its third century.

We wish every Southern Spars-equipped yacht, and all those competing, a safe and successful week of racing.

Palma Bay will soon become the stage for eight days of world-class competition at the 44th Copa del Rey MAPFRE. 🇪🇸

More than 100 yachts are expected to contest the regatta from 1–8 August, bringing together leading crews from across the international racing community.

Southern Spars will be represented throughout the fleet, and we will be cheering on the teams as they contend with the shifting conditions and close racing for which Palma is renowned.

We look forward to following their progress. Good luck to all competing teams.
