We are currently looking for someone to join our rental vehicle company in the role of an Operations and Sales Representative to take responsibility for our fleet and sales management. This customer focused varied-role (“Jack of all trades”) is perfect for an energetic all-rounder who can demonstrate good practical skills, common sense and has the ability to do a variety of tasks. You will be expected to be “hands on” in all areas.
Key Tasks include:
• Customer service
• Reservations
• Front office
• Vehicle grooming
• Driving and vehicle deliveries.
• Vehicle Sales
• Manage all compliance on island fleet – COFs, Registrations, RUCs
• Coordinating the daily movements of vehicles
• General Maintenance, i.e. light bulbs, hose fittings, lawns etc.
We are looking for a person with an outgoing friendly personality who is reliable, well organised with the ability to think on their feet. The position will involve working both in the office and grooming/driving vehicles. It will offer a range of duties including dealing with customers, rental agreements, handling telephone inquiries, reservation (sales), cleaning vehicles, picking up customers, delivery of vehicles and possibly basic vehicle maintenance and repairs such as (oil Changes, Brake pads, Tyre changing etc.). As this role involves driving a range of vehicles; a full drivers licence is essential along with the ability to drive both manual/automatic.
To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent communication skills, a positive mature attitude, and a flair for logistics
• Previous experience in fleet management; experience in car rental an advantage
• Ability to work independently and make decisions within clear guidelines
• Able to work in a small team and work sole charge.
• Excellent time management skills (well organised)
• Ability to think on your feet and multitask especially in high pressure constantly changing situations.
• A pragmatic approach to solving challenges as they arise
• A high level of vehicle maintenance knowledge
• Proficient with web-based software solutions
• Computer and keyboard skills
• Physically fit with a clean and tidy presentation
• Current NZ driver’s license, and access to own transport
This position is on a 6 months fixed term contract. We will consider either a full time (40 hours/week) or part time positions (25 hours per week). This job will include public holiday and weekend work on a rostered basis with shifts between 8am and 5.30pm plus some reasonable additional hours.
