The first 12 to 24 hours after picking up your vehicle are the most critical for your new ceramic coating. While the coating is dry to the touch when you leave our shop, it requires a full 24 hours to initially cross-link and cure into a permanent, hard glass layer. During this initial curing window, the microscopic quartz shield is still vulnerable to chemical and environmental contamination.

At Mirror Detailing, we advise all clients to keep their vehicles completely dry and parked undercover during this first day. Exposure to New Zealand rain, morning dew, or tap water can spot the uncured coating and permanently ruin the gloss finish. If your car does happen to get wet, do not rub the paint; gently blow the water off or blot it away very carefully with a plush microfiber towel to keep the protective seal perfectly intact.
