Clean car rebates are ending soon for many vehicles, including hybrids.
At the moment rebate is available for most small to medium size engine hybrids and some small internal combustion engines - If you are in the market for one of those, there’s never been a better time to get one!
From 1st July only a very limited number of hybrid models will be eligible for clean car rebate, and the amount of the rebate for those eligible will become significantly smaller.
On the other end of the scheme, the fees for larger internal combustion engines (petrol and diesel) will be increased. Eg. the maximum clean car fee for a used vehicle $2,850 will become around $3,500. Some larger engine hybrids will fall into the fees category also.

NO APRIL FOOLS JOKE! As of 1 April the second phase of the Clean Car Programme kicked in. This means that low emission vehicles are now eligible for a REBATE - not only EV’s!
