If they don't lead well, they won't load well.

We need to stop looking at float loading as a stand alone event and understand that if a horse isn't walking on nicely its not because of the trailer.

Its because we've missed a few training steps along the way to set them up for success.

Starting with how well we can lead our horses.

You'd be surprised how many other issues it can fix too!

Quick note to anyone wanting to hire a float from us...

We want to keep you and your equine friends as safe as possible when you're on the road, so we require vehicles to have a minimum towing capacity of 2,500kgs.

I sadly had to turn someone away this morning, which makes me feel awful. It might not be clear on the website so I'll update it shortly.

Quick trip to the beach on Sunday morning.

It was Fantas first time playing in the waves at Muriwai, and I was impressed with how he handled it.

Vehicles lose access to the beach between 29th December - 15th January, which is a good window to take young/green horses if you want to get them used to the beach without worrying about traffic.

Dropping the ramp, and seeing this. Isn't it just the best feeling?! IYKYK. 💩

AFH is closed until the 28th June! I'm heading to Australia to volunteer at the Tom Quilty - a huge endurance event with riders racing 160kms over 24 hours with their amazing horses. This is a bucket list goal for me, so can't wait to learn heaps from the professionals.

Ice, ice baby! Picked this gorgeous boy up from the trainers and took him to his new home ❤️
Super slow drive because of all the potholes but we just took our time and got there in one piece. Ice didn't move a muscle the whole trip, and made my job super easy with no nervous p**ps to clean up! 🦄
