𝐁𝐎𝐀 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐮𝐤, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝

BOA has just completed its contribution to the record-breaking repair of the Ameralik Fjord power line, helping secure the supply of renewable energy to Nuuk, the capital of Greenland.

For this unique operation, carried out by Kraftmontasje, BOA provided mooring analysis and Mooring Master, assist tug Hunter, as well as BOABARGE 32, 65 x 17 m flat-top cargo barge.

BOABARGE 32 was used as a working platform and operational base for pulling pilot ropes, wires and finally the conductor cable from the barge at sea level up to the north mast 500m above sea level, and then across the 5657 m fjord span to the south mast, located 1000m above sea level.

The 5657 m crossing represents by far the longest free span of its kind in the world - a remarkable engineering and operational achievement.

𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐳𝐧𝐢𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄 𝟑𝟑

BOA has safely completed the load-out and launching of Wicher, the first of three frigates being constructed under Poland’s Miecznik programme at the PGZ Stocznia Wojenna shipyard in Gdynia, Poland.

The operation represents the first of this scale in the Polish shipbuilding industry, with a frigate of this size launched by load-out and float-off using a semi-submersible barge, and marks the first of three launching operations contracted to BOA, with the two subsequent frigates scheduled for launching over the next two years.

The Miecznik frigates will each have a displacement of about 6.000 tonnes, with a length of approx.140 metres and a beam of approx. 20 metres.

For the first launch operation, the semi-submersible barge BOABARGE 33, measuring 140 x 57.05 x 8.54 m, was mobilized to Gdynia, Poland by the tug Multratug 3. The frigate was transported by SPMT’s provided by our subcontractors Sarens from the construction hall onto the semi-submersible barge.

Following completion of the load-out, BOABARGE 33 was shifted to the designated float-off location. The barge was submerged in a carefully controlled operation, allowing the frigate to safely float in the water for the first time.

Beyond providing the semi-submersible barge, main tug and SPMT’s, BOA delivered engineering, planning and operational management required for the complete launching operation.

By combining our specialized heavy-lift and semi-submersible barges with BOA’s in-house engineering capabilities and experienced operational personnel, BOA provides an integrated solution covering the operation from planning and engineering through load-out, shifting and launching operation.

With another two frigates to be launched over the next two years, BOA looks forward to continuing the cooperation with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and thanks PGZ for the excellent cooperation throughout the project.

We would also like to thank Sarens for their valuable contribution to the successful load-out. This project builds on the long-standing and close cooperation between BOA and Sarens, combining our expertise in complex heavy transport and launching operations.

𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲

𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘 𝟯𝟴 towed by BOA Heimdal has completed the transport of the first of 2 newbuilt Goliath cranes from the Port of Chioggia to Monfalcone, Italy. These newbuilt 110-meter-high Goliath cranes are built by Cimolai Technology for Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone.

Following weeks of planning and preparation, the loading operation was successfully completed, with the crane featuring a 136-metre outreach securely positioned onboard our 152 m x 38 m semi-submersible heavy lift barge and towed to Monfalcone by the ASD tug 𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗱𝗮𝗹.

The operation required close coordination between multiple parties both at Chioggia and Monfalcone, including tug operators, port pilots, mooring teams, the Harbour Master's Office, MWS, agents, and the project logistics teams. Simulations of the operations were also carried out at VEMARS, with support from CETENA S.p.A. - Centro per gli Studi di Tecnica Navale, in advance to ensure a safe and efficient ex*****on.

We are proud that BOABARGE 38 was selected to support another complex heavy transport operation, demonstrating the capability and reliability of our heavy lift fleet for demanding industrial projects.

𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴

With the capacities of the large semi-submersible barge BOABARGE 37 (152 x 38 x 9.15 m), BOA have completed the load-out and float-off of the 103.6 m, 5,600T hull for the future CCGS DONJEK.

CCGS DONJEK will be the first of two Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS) for the Canadian Coast Guard and marks an important milestone in the revitalization of the Canadian Coast Guard fleet.

Utilizing the available weather window and our experience gained from the six previous launching operations of APOS for the Canadian Navy, the operation was safely completed within 36 hours from the start of load-out to float-off of the hull.

𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝟮 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝘂𝗹𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱

BOA has completed the launch of two floating dock sections at Wulkan Shipyard for Charterers Trend Projekt.

The 82 x 47-meter sections have been successfully launched, using BOA’s semi-submersible barge, Boabarge 36 (124 x 31.5 x 7.93 m), with 3.600 m² of deck space and submerging capacities of 8 meters forward and 12 meters aft above deck- ensuring safe and controlled operations.

BOA will launch the 3rd and final section of the floating dock in August 2026.
Once completed, the floating dock will be one of the largest in the Baltic Sea, strengthening the shipbuilding potential of Western Pomerania.

Beyond providing the semi-submersible barge, BOA delivered Engineering and operational management of the barge of the barge, ensuring safe and efficient ex*****ons.

BOA have successfully completed its scope for the Princess Elisabeth Island, the world’s first artificial energy island, located 45 km off the Belgian coast in the North Sea.

BOA was responsible for the launching of 23 concrete caissons, each weighing up to 22.400 tonnes‍. The operation was carried out using our semi-submersible BOABARGE 33, modified to handle extreme load-out operations over the stern. BOABARGE 33, with its impressive dimensions (140 × 57.05 × 8.54 m), 5,800 m² of deck space, and the ability to submerge to 21.5 meters above deck, enabled the safe and controlled launching of these enormous structures.

Beyond providing the barge, BOA delivered comprehensive project engineering and operational management, ensuring safe and efficient ex*****on throughout the campaign.

This milestone marks the completion of BOA’s involvement in one of Europe’s most ambitious renewable energy infrastructure projects. The Princess Elisabeth Island will play a crucial role in connecting offshore wind capacity of the Princess Elisabeth Zone and strengthening the future offshore electricity grid in the North Sea.

AF Offshore Decom has awarded a contract to BOA for 2 float-on and load-in operations, named the floating storage unit ALBA and the floating production platform FPF-1. Both units will be dismantled and recycled at AF Environmental Base Vats

Under the contract, BOA will deploy its newly built, next-generation semi-submersible heavy transport barge, the Boabarge 39, for AF Offshore Decom to execute the two float-on and load-in operations.

Boabarge 39 represents the latest development in heavy marine launching and transport technology, featuring:

🔸Dimensions 166x73x9,15m
🔸Deadweight of 57.500T
🔸High deck load capacity 35t/m2
🔸Submersing capacities to 22,5m water above deck
🔸Advanced ballasting systems
🔸Optimized structural strength for large displacement floaters
🔸Enhanced operational efficiency and environmental performance

The newbuild barge is well suited for large-scale decommissioning projects, docking operations of both vessels and rigs and launching solutions of heavy cargo with large footprint.

This contract award marks a significant milestone as the first contract for the newbuilt barge. BOA appreciate the award from AF Offshore Decom and looks forward to a close collaboration on these projects.

BOA are proud to announce that our state-of-the-art semi-submersible barge BOABARGE 39 was launched today 12th December 2025 from the drydock at DSOC (Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co. Ltd).

The barge will have capacities with a deadweight of 57.500t and a submersing capacity of 22,5m water above the deck of the barge, expanding our capacities in supporting future projects requiring launching and transport of heavy and voluminous cargoes.

This launching of the hull of BOABARGE 39 is an important milestone in the building progress of this unique semi-submersible barge, designed in-house by BOA Engineering Department.

Final installation and assembly work will continue with planned delivery of the barge late summer 2026.

BOA is proud to take part in the hand-over of the HYDRA partially enclosed fish farm, through the float-off operation and consecutive towage to the Nordlaks Inclination Trial Site.

The operation is being carried out in the waters off Sørvika, Hadsel municipality (Nordland), with our vessels BOA Balder and BOA Heimdal on site- both 65 t BP tugs- delivering precision, power and operational excellence throughout the operation.

We would like to thank Nordlaks for the strong collaboration and trust in our marine expertise in this operation, that is in progress today.
