The proud British owner of this stunning CBX1000 Pro-Link recently shared these photos with me, and seeing the finished result put a big smile on my face.

This gauge set was fully overhauled from the inside out and converted back to the correct UK specification, all while carefully preserving the bike’s original mileage. Every component was inspected, serviced and recalibrated to ensure reliable operation for many years to come.

There’s something special about seeing a freshly restored set of gauges reunited with such an iconic motorcycle. The owner is absolutely thrilled with the result, and that makes all the hours spent at the workbench worthwhile.

Thank you for sharing the photos and for trusting me with this beautiful CBX1000.

A few more highlights from the fantastic Open Day at .nl

It was great to meet so many fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, talk about classic instruments, share restoration stories and see some truly beautiful machines up close. Events like these remind me why I enjoy this work so much.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, showed interest in my restorations and shared their passion for classic motorcycles. I had a great time and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

This Honda XR500S speedometer arrived with a broken needle and a completely dried out internal mechanism.

Fortunately, it reached my workshop just in time. After a full overhaul, careful repairs and plenty of attention to detail, I was able to bring it back to its original condition and smooth operation once again.

For this restoration, I deliberately preserved as much of the original patina as possible. The goal was to ensure that the speedometer still looks at home on a well cared for, regularly ridden motorcycle, especially since the matching tachometer has not yet been restored.

Should the owner decide to send in the tachometer at a later date, I can service and restore it to the same standard while keeping the appearance perfectly balanced.

Many classic motorcycle instruments suffer from dried lubricants, worn bearings and hidden internal damage that often goes unnoticed until it’s too late.

If your gauges have never been serviced, now might be the perfect time.

Want your original instruments restored and serviced by a specialist? Get in touch. I still have a few workshop slots available.

In this reel, I show how even a fully worn-out Kawasaki instrument can be restored to a factory-new condition. These gauges came from a Norwegian client. They had worn needle bearings, play in their drive, and other worn parts. I always reuse the original dials whenever possible, and I reprint the red zones. In the end, I returned them to a fantastic state. The Norwegian client will surely be thrilled. Want your classic gauges reborn? Contact me today!

This particular set may already be spoken for by an Australian customer, but I regularly restore similar XL500 instrument sets to the same high standard. If you’re looking for a properly rebuilt original set with warranty, feel free to contact me.
