I own a Volkswagen Phaeton V8 as daily driver. I got several degrees for car mechanic and as daily job I'm a software programmer for ecommerce companies. I'm also autodidact and in this way I can improve myself in everything I'm interested. I did and do a lot for the VW phaeton community, helping others with problems, improving repair procedures and even invent fixes or new functionalities like ca

r-android merged together with car electronics in the Phaeton. Finding other ways to fix things instead of engine removal procedures to save costs but also avoiding other future problems. Also electronic related issues are fixed in a way that no new or not available components are needed. Classic cars are a way where I can express my capabilities, by finding a good fix without needing to replace the parts. Of course when parts are needed I will use new/old stuff to get it fixed the safest way, but these parts are not always available. I also want to express my creativity in the design of a car, most classic cars are good as they are and I will not customize rare cars. But if a car is far from getting it original, I like to customize it to give it a new life. When a classic car or custom car is ready I like to share it, and the car will be available for others, I cannot keep all these cars. I re-shaped the chevy 3100 hip line with help from profiler, a 3d scanner and 3d printer and some elbow grease. awesome to do with an awesome result!

Some last things before welding in the firewall. Some epoxy coating and black paint to protect it from rusting. At the bottom above the transmission I will add a lip for mounting the transmission floor cover.

Kustom old school meets modern technics in vintage style!
I 3d printed the new headlight rings for the chevy and let them rust with help with some acid and salt. The unfinished print as a tryout, next will be the finished kustom rings.

Deze zwarte Volkswagen Up, TR-789-T (73.137 km, 2018) is vanochtend meegenomen voor een proefrit.. helaas nog niet terug.. Horen graag als je deze auto tegen komt / ziet. Bedankt!

Some progress was made on the firewall modification, I made one piece for the header clearance and with a paper pattern I copied the shape for creating the other side.

I started the new project on the chevy 3100 firewall.
Wire bucket is ready for determing the shape and as reference for metal shaping. After that I made a paper pattern to determin the shrinks and I chose to shape two pieces because of the deep shape. The two pieces are laserwelded and shaped to meet the wirebucket shape.

After finishing this fueltank, I will start soon with modifying the firewall of a 3100 chevy pickup with a chevy big block.
