Jaguar XJC 4.2 Automatic

As mentioned, the Jaguar Series II XJC in left-hand drive configuration is relatively rare. An original example should therefore be properly documented. This Jaguar is supplied with its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate. As with many of our cars, this Sport was purchased from an official Land Rover dealer within our network. The first owner bought it new from that very dealer and traded it in earlier this year against a new Range Rover. The specification immediately caught my attention and, truth be told, I could not leave it behind. Until the next enthusiast comes along, I am happily driving it myself.

The Jaguar MK2 remains, to my eye, the most beautiful saloon car ever produced.

The Jaguar MK2 was the sports saloon of its era. Spacious enough for four, yet more than capable of keeping pace with the roadsters of the day. It is no coincidence it became such a success.

Buyers could choose between three straight-six engines: 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8 litres, with manual or automatic transmission. From 1967 onwards, the model evolved into the more restrained 240 and 340. This example, however, is exactly as it should be: a 1962 3.8, complete with the heavier chrome bumpers and overriders, proper leather upholstery, and the distinctive fog lamps.
