A lovely Alvis Speed 25 Sports Special from 1935 with the 3½-litre engine, which has just been rebuilt.

Some specials look better than others and this one looks just great! Built around 30 years ago for collector Dick van Dyck, it was acquired some 20 years ago by its current caretaker, the former chairman of the Dutch Vintage Sports Car Club (DVSCC).

Built on a lightweight Silver Eagle chassis, it is fitted with the desirable 3½-Litre Speed 25 engine, which has just been rebuilt at a cost of over €40,000.

This early 308 GTB Dry Sump was sold new through Kroymans Ferrari in Hilversum, the Netherlands, and has remained with its first and only owner ever since. Regularly maintained and enjoyed throughout its life, the car comes with its complete service history and has covered 109.000 km from new.

Just had a major service, including rebuilt carburettors and brakes, new brake discs and new Michelin tyres, with the total work costing over €25.000,-!

This 2.4-litre, six-cylinder Ferrari Dino 246 GT has found its new owner!

Although the Dino 246 GT was once not considered a “true” Ferrari, it has since earned its place among the marque’s most iconic models.

Finished in its original Azzurro Dino paintwork and proudly carrying Ferrari Classiche Certification, this is a truly exceptional example.

We wish the new owner many unforgettable drives and countless enjoyable miles behind the wheel!

Recently we sourced this Fiat 8V for one of our good friends.
The Fiat 8V is already an exceptionally special car, but this example is even more remarkable. It competed in the 1955 Mille Miglia, the record-breaking edition in which Stirling Moss completed the Brescia–Rome–Brescia route in just 10 hours, 7 minutes, and 48 seconds, averaging an astonishing 158 km/h.
With its new owner, this Fiat 8V will be reformed to its exact 1955 Mille Miglia specification, complete with the correct period race numbers.

We hope to see this incredible 8V back on the Mille Miglia starting grid next year!

The DB5 is the car most people associate with James Bond and Goldfinger. However, contrary to popular belief, the car that first captured the attention of the film’s production team was not a DB5 at all, but a DB4 Series V. Admittedly, only the most dedicated Aston Martin enthusiast would be able to spot the difference at a glance.

When the production team visited the Aston Martin factory in 1963 in search of the first definitive “Bond car,” they came across a red (!) Aston Martin DB4. They were instantly captivated by it, and the rest, as they say, is history. The success of that encounter would ultimately cement Aston Martin’s place in cinematic legend.

This particular DB4 Series V, built in 1963, is an example of the very model that inspired the Bond connection. Even more desirable, it was factory-equipped with the rare matching-numbers “Special Series” Vantage engine, featuring larger valves, a higher compression ratio, and triple SU carburetors. The result was an impressive 266 bhp at 5,700 rpm, 26 bhp more than the standard engine.

Presented today exactly as specified when new in striking Fiesta Red, the car is further enhanced by wide Borrani wire wheels and the option of electric windows.

Zagato and Alfa Romeo are a combination that simply cannot be ignored. From the pre-war 8C and 6C models to more modern creations such as the SZ and the Junior Zagato, the partnership has produced some of the marque’s most iconic cars. Yet one model is often overlooked: the 2600 Sprint Zagato. With a production run of just 105 examples, it has never received the recognition and attention it truly deserves.

The 2600 Sprint Zagato marks the end of the prestigious era of Alfa Romeos built to the desires of wealthy and sporting clients, cars whose aesthetics are still highly admired today.

It has been quite a busy time here at VSOC. In just a few weeks, we managed to attend the Tour Auto, Mille Miglia and Greenwich Concours, and we sold three cars, all while Rogier was on leave overseeing the restoration of his house.

Now we finally have some time to reflect. And how absolutely incredible was the Tour Auto! Driving scenic routes through France, tackling hill climbs and racing at some fantastic circuits: Magny-Cours, Albi, Pau-Arnos and Nogaro. Good food and great company certainly helps fuel the mind!

The Tour Auto is an event we will definitely return to.
