24H SOLEXRACE

Afgelopen weekend was Team FVDS aanwezig bij de 24H Solexrace!

We mochten lekker rijden op de crossbaan in Heeswijk en samen met de vele enthousiaste bezoekers hebben we er een mooie dag van gemaakt. En het mooiste: dit alles voor het goede doel, Stichting KiKa!

De dag begon nog behoorlijk nat en blubberig. Dat zorgde meteen voor wat extra spektakel! Na een flink aantal rondjes met de trucks en buggy’s werd de baan gelukkig steeds droger en konden we het gas er mooi op houden.

’s Avonds natuurlijk ook nog even een kijkje genomen bij het supergoed georganiseerde festival. Mooie sfeer, veel publiek en vooral veel gezelligheid!

Zaterdag was het voor ons weer tijd om richting huis te gaan.

Dank aan de organisatie van de 24H Solexrace, alle vrijwilligers én natuurlijk alle enthousiaste bezoekers langs de baan. Mooi dat we op deze manier ons steentje konden bijdragen aan KiKa!

Last weekend, Team FVDS joined the 24H Solex Race!

We had a great time driving on the cross track in Heeswijk and putting on a show for all the enthusiastic visitors. And the best part: it was all for a great cause, supporting KiKa Foundation!

The day started off pretty wet and muddy, which immediately made things even more spectacular! After quite a few laps with the trucks and buggies, the track quickly started to dry out and we could really get going.

In the evening, we also stopped by the superbly organized festival. Great atmosphere, lots of people and plenty of fun!

On Saturday, it was time for us to pack up and head home again.

A big thank you to the 24H Solex Race organization, all the volunteers and, of course, everyone who came out to watch and cheer us on. It was great to be able to contribute to KiKa in this way!

ER IS FLINK GESLEUTELD VOOR DE SOLEX RACE!

Er is weer een hele avond flink gewerkt om de DAF rallytruck weer helemaal in goede staat te krijgen.

Na de Breslau Rally was er namelijk nog genoeg werk te doen. Alle opgelopen schade moest worden gerepareerd en aangepakt. Dus: handen uit de mouwen en een flinke sleutelavond!

Gelukkig schiet het mooi op. De DAF staat er inmiddels weer goed bij en we zijn bijna klaar voor de volgende uitdaging. Volgende week nog de laatste puntjes op de i en dan kan hij weer los!

Want van 27 t/m 30 augustus is Team FVDS aanwezig bij de Solex Race!

En nee… we gaan niet op de Solex.
Wij komen natuurlijk met de DAF!

We hebben er zin in om de truck weer in actie te laten zien én horen. Hopelijk zien we weer veel bekende gezichten en FVDS-fans langs de kant!

A LOT OF WORK FOR THE SOLEX RACE!

Another full evening of hard work went into getting our DAF rally truck back into top shape.

After the Breslau Rally, there was still plenty of work to be done. All the damage we picked up had to be repaired and sorted out. So, sleeves rolled up and another serious evening of wrenching!

Fortunately, we’re making great progress. The DAF is looking good again and we’re almost ready for our next challenge. Next week we’ll take care of the final details, and then it’s time to get back in action!

From August 27th to 30th, Team FVDS will be at the Solex Race!

And no… we won’t be racing a Solex.
Of course, we’re bringing the DAF!

We can’t wait to see — and hear — the truck back in action. Hopefully we’ll see plenty of familiar faces and FVDS fans along the track!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Nog één laatste terugblik!

Voor onze doorgewinterde volgers hebben we nog één laatste terugblik op de Breslau Rally 2026.

Na de prachtige vlog van opa Mies is het nu tijd voor ruim 6 minuten aan foto’s die de mooiste momenten van onze rally nog één keer voorbij laten komen. Van de zware proeven en lange sleutelnachten tot de mooie resultaten en de geweldige sfeer binnen ons team.

We hopen dat jullie net zoveel hebben genoten van alle updates als wij van dit avontuur!

Hierna zal het op onze pagina weer even wat rustiger worden. Totdat we weer volop aan de slag gaan met nieuwe voorbereidingen of onze rallytrucks mogen schitteren op een evenement.

Breslau Rally 2026 – Vlog Opa Mies!

Nog één mooie terugblik op de Breslau Rally van afgelopen maand… maar deze keer vanuit een héél ander perspectief!

Namelijk door de lens van Vlog Opa Mies!

Mies Melotte is samen met Ben van de Sanden één van onze twee Golden Oldies, a.k.a. The Shadows. Altijd aanwezig, alles in de gaten en natuurlijk overal met de camera bij!

Al het beeldmateriaal in deze video is door Mies zelf gemaakt en ter plekke in het veld voorzien van zijn eigen live commentaar.

Breslau Rally 2026 Dag 9, PODIUM FINISH!
English below

De laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst, zeggen ze dan… Nou, dat hebben we tijdens deze Breslau geweten!

Op de laatste dag stonden er nog twee proeven op het programma. Twee keer door het loodzware zand rondom Żagań. Nog één keer alles geven.

De eerste proef liet meteen zijn sporen na. De Mercedes kwam terug met een kromme stuurstang en ook de DAF had flinke schade aan de achterkant, nadat er tijdens de proef een jeep achterop was gereden.

Maar de resultaten waren er wél:
Hans op P2! Jasper op P4!

De servicecrew aan de gang, de schade herstellen en zorgen dat beide rallytrucks weer zo snel mogelijk klaarstonden voor de allerlaatste proef van deze Breslau!

De Mercedes van Hans kwam probleemloos door de proef. Bij de DAF van Jasper sloeg het noodlot nog één keer toe… Op slechts een paar minuten van de finish brak een bladveer doormidden!

Jasper wist de DAF alsnog over de finish te krijgen en pakte P3. Hans kwam binnen op P4!

Bij de finishboog stond natuurlijk het hele team de mannen op te wachten. Uiteraard met een koelbox vol frisse Żubr’s!

Daarna snel terug naar het bivak. Inpakken, opladen, douchen en door naar de prijsuitreiking!

Jasper, Giel en Sjors – P4 in het eindklassement. Hans, Luc en Johan – P3 EN OP HET PODIUM! Wat een geweldige prestatie!

Na de prijsuitreiking nog even nagepraat en een biertje gedronken met de andere Nederlandse teams.

Daarna snel het bed in, want de wekker stond alweer vroeg… Om 05.00 uur zijn we vertrokken richting huis en inmiddels zijn we alweer onderweg door Duitsland. Als alles volgens plan verloopt, zijn we vanmiddag weer terug in Luyksgestel!

🇬🇧Breslau Rally 2026 – Day 9 | PODIUM FINISH!

The final stretch is always the toughest, as they say… Well, we definitely experienced that during this Breslau!

On the final day, there were still two stages on the programme. Twice through the extremely heavy sand around Żagań. One last time to give it everything.

The first stage immediately left its mark. The Mercedes returned with a bent steering rod, and the DAF also suffered major damage to the rear after a jeep crashed into the back of it during the stage.

But the results were there:
Hans in P2!
Jasper in P4!

The service crew got straight to work, repairing the damage and making sure both rally trucks were ready as quickly as possible for the very last stage of this Breslau!

Hans’ Mercedes completed the stage without any problems. For Jasper’s DAF, bad luck struck one last time… Just a few minutes before the finish, a leaf spring snapped in half!

Jasper still managed to get the DAF across the finish line and took P3. Hans finished in P4!

Of course, the entire team was waiting for the guys at the finish arch. Naturally, with a cool box full of ice-cold Żubr b**rs!

Then it was quickly back to the bivouac. Pack everything up, load the trucks, take a shower and head to the prize-giving ceremony!

What an amazing achievement!

After the prize-giving ceremony, we spent some time talking and having a b**r with the other Dutch teams.

Then it was quickly off to bed, because the alarm was set early again… At 05:00, we started our journey home and we’re already making our way through Germany. If everything goes according to plan, we’ll be back in Luyksgestel this afternoon!

Breslau Rally 2026 Dag 8, Volop actie, zie het filmmateriaal!!
English below

Na een lange sleutelnacht hoefden de rijders vandaag gelukkig niet al te vroeg te starten. Eerst rustig ontbijten in het bivak, even bijkletsen met andere teams en daarna de laatste werkzaamheden aan de rallytrucks. Rond 11.00 uur was het tijd om te vertrekken.
Met een mooi resultaat! Jasper stuurde de DAF naar een knappe 3e plaats.� Hans zette de Mercedes op een 4e plaats.

Omdat er vandaag twee etappes op het programma stonden, was er tussen de proeven door weinig tijd om stil te zitten. In het bivak werd volop gesleuteld en zijn we nog snel langs een lokaal landbouwmechanisatiebedrijf geweest om materiaal te halen om het lek in het koelsysteem te dichten. Gelukkig leek dat de oplossing te zijn en konden beide trucks weer vol vertrouwen aan de tweede proef beginnen.
De tweede etappe voerde door de prachtige bossen rondom Żagań. Onze trouwe Renault Master bracht de servicecrew zonder problemen naar de mooiste filmlocaties. Daardoor konden we niet alleen spectaculaire beelden vanaf de kant maken, maar ook een stuk met de rallytrucks meerijden om unieke actiefoto’s en video’s te schieten. Dat blijft iedere keer weer genieten!

Na de finish was het tijd om de radiateurs bij de carwash weer helemaal schoon te maken, zodat de trucks klaar zijn voor morgen. En terwijl de monteurs de laatste controles uitvoeren, staat Rob samen met Mies alweer in de keuken.

Vanavond genieten we van een echte Hollandse maaltijd: Chinese tomatensoep, gehaktballetjes in rode saus en natuurlijk friet.

Ook de uitslag van de tweede etappe is inmiddels bekend: Jasper eindigde op een 3e plaats en Hans pakte een 4e plaats. Wat een geweldige dag!

Op naar dag 9!

Full of action in a beautiful film report – Breslau Rally 2026 Day 8
After a long night of wrenching, the drivers didn’t have to start too early today. First a relaxed breakfast in the bivouac, catching up with other teams, and then finishing the last work on the rally trucks. Around 11:00 it was time to head out.
With great results! Jasper drove the DAF to an impressive 4th place. Hans placed the Mercedes in 5th.

With two stages on today’s schedule, there was little time to rest in between. Back in the bivouac, there was plenty of work going on, and we quickly visited a local agricultural machinery company to get parts to fix a leak in the cooling system. Fortunately, that seemed to solve the issue, and both trucks could confidently start the second stage.

The second stage led through the beautiful forests around Żagań. Our reliable Renault Master brought the service crew smoothly to the best filming locations. This allowed us not only to capture spectacular footage from the sidelines, but also to ride along with the rally trucks for unique action shots and videos. Always an amazing experience!

After the finish, it was time to thoroughly clean the radiators at the car wash so the trucks are ready for tomorrow. Meanwhile, as the mechanics carry out the final checks, Rob and Mies are already busy in the kitchen. Tonight we enjoy a true Dutch meal: Chinese tomato soup, meatballs in red sauce, and of course fries.

The results of the second stage are also in: Jasper finished in 3rd place and Hans secured 4th place. What a fantastic day!

On to day 9!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Dag 7, Op naar Żagań, het tweede bivak!
English below

Vanmorgen ging de wekker alweer vroeg. Om 06.30 uur begonnen onze rijders aan de proef, en opnieuw met een prachtig resultaat: de DAF finishte als 3e en de Mercedes als 4e!

Terwijl de trucks nog onderweg waren, was de servicecrew al druk bezig met het inpakken van het bivak. Zodra de rijders terug waren, gingen de trucks op de diepladers en vertrokken we richting Żagań, waar het tweede bivak is gevestigd.

Maar zoals zo vaak bij de Breslau Rally verliep ook deze rit niet helemaal zonder problemen. Slechts twee dorpjes verder begaf een luchtbalg onder de slaaptrailer het. Gelukkig konden we deze ter plaatse provisorisch repareren, zodat we onze reis konden vervolgen.

Tijdens een tankstop kwamen we toevallig Janus van Kasteren van het Shiver Rally Team tegen. Via Darek wist hij razendsnel een nieuwe luchtbalg voor ons te regelen, die bij aankomst in het bivak al op ons lag te wachten. Top geregeld, bedankt!

Eenmaal aangekomen in Żagań begon het echte werk. Het complete bivak moest weer worden opgebouwd, er moest gegeten worden en daarna konden de monteurs direct aan de slag met de rallytrucks.

De DAF leek de proef in eerste instantie probleemloos te hebben doorstaan, maar uiteindelijk bleek er toch een beschadigde band én een probleem met een naaf te zijn. Een flinke klus dus.

De Mercedes had iets meer te verduren gehad. Tijdens de proef verloor de truck het reservewiel, het koelprobleem bleek nog niet volledig opgelost en daarnaast was er ook nog een stang afgebroken, waardoor er gelast moest worden.

Na uren sleutelen waren beide trucks uiteindelijk pas rond 23.30 uur weer volledig rallyklaar.

En dan is het tijd voor welverdiend biertje!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Day 7, On to Żagań, the second bivouac!

The alarm went off early this morning as our drivers started today’s stage at 6:30 AM. Once again they delivered an excellent result: 3rd place for the DAF and 4th place for the Mercedes!

While the trucks were still out on the stage, the service crew packed up the first bivouac. As soon as the drivers returned, the trucks were loaded onto the trailers and we headed towards Żagań, home of the second bivouac.

Unfortunately, the journey wasn’t without problems. Just a few villages down the road, an air suspension bag on the sleeping trailer failed. Luckily, we managed a temporary roadside repair and continued our trip.

During a fuel stop, we met Janus van Kasteren from the Shiver Rally Team. Through Darek, he quickly arranged a replacement airbag, which was already waiting for us when we arrived at the bivouac. Thanks for the fantastic help!

Once in Żagań, it was straight back to work. We rebuilt the camp, grabbed something to eat and immediately started preparing both trucks.

The DAF initially appeared to be undamaged, but a damaged tyre and a hub issue still had to be repaired.

The Mercedes had a tougher day, losing its spare wheel during the stage. The cooling issue also wasn’t fully resolved yet, and a broken suspension rod required extensive welding.

After many hours of hard work, both trucks were finally ready to race again around 11:30 PM.

Finally it was time to enjoy a well-earned b**r!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Dag 6, Dagsucces voor Team FVDS Offroad!
English below

Na een kort nachtje na de night stage mocht de servicecrew alweer vroeg op pad om onderdelen op te halen bij de DAF-dealer in Koszalin. DBK DAF Service, bedankt voor de uitstekende service!

In de middag was het weer tijd voor de proef, en met een fantastisch resultaat! De DAF van Jasper wist de dagzege bij de trucks binnen te halen. Een geweldige prestatie! De Mercedes van Hans reed eveneens een sterke wedstrijd en finishte knap op de vijfde plaats.

Helaas werd de proef overschaduwd door een ernstig ongeval waarbij een deelnemer en een lokale bestelbus betrokken waren. Hierdoor is de proef ingekort. Wij wensen alle betrokkenen veel sterkte en een spoedig herstel.

Na de finish waren de rollen vandaag omgedraaid. De DAF kwam zonder problemen terug in het bivak, terwijl er aan de Mercedes flink gesleuteld moest worden. Er is een nieuwe dynamo gemonteerd en het koelsysteem kreeg een flinke modificatie nadat er een lekkage was ontstaan.

Er is door het team tot ver na middernacht keihard gewerkt om alles weer in orde te krijgen. En met succes: de Mercedes staat weer klaar voor de volgende etappe!

Morgen gaat de wekker alweer vroeg. De rijders moeten al vóór half zeven aan de special beginnen. Door de zware storm die hier in de omgeving heeft huisgehouden en de vele omgevallen bomen is de geplande Hannibal Marathon Stage aangepast. In plaats van een marathonetappe met verplaatsing rijden de trucks nu een special van 105 kilometer rondom Drawsko Pomorskie. Daarna volgt een verplaatsing van ruim 300 kilometer naar het nieuwe bivak in Żagań.

Het belooft opnieuw een lange, zware en uitdagende dag te worden. Op naar morgen!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Day 6 | Victory for Team FVDS Offroad!

After only a few hours of sleep following the night stage, the service crew was back on the road early to collect parts from the DAF dealer in Koszalin. A big thank you to DBK DAF Service for the excellent support!

In the afternoon it was time for the next stage, and what a result! Jasper’s DAF claimed overall victory in the truck category, while Hans finished in a strong fifth place with the Mercedes. Fantastic work by both crews!

Unfortunately, the stage was overshadowed by a serious accident involving a competitor and a local delivery van. As a result, the stage had to be shortened. We wish everyone involved strength and a speedy recovery.

Back in the bivouac, the roles were reversed today. The DAF returned without any issues, while the Mercedes required extensive repairs. A new alternator was installed and the cooling system received major modifications after a leak was discovered.

The team worked well past midnight to get everything repaired, and they succeeded. The Mercedes is ready to race again tomorrow!

Tomorrow starts very early, with the crews beginning the special before 6:30 a.m. Due to the severe storm that passed through the area and the many fallen trees, the planned Hannibal Marathon Stage has been changed. Instead of a marathon stage with a relocation, the crews will now complete a 105 km special around Drawsko Pomorskie before driving more than 300 km to the next bivouac in Żagań.

Another long and demanding day lies ahead. Let’s go!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Night Stage

De DAF van Jasper was nét op tijd klaar voor de start van de night stage! Gelukkig bleef er nog net genoeg tijd over om wat krachtvoer naar binnen te werken… Mexicano’s natuurlijk!

Daarna snel richting de start voor een spectaculaire nachtproef. Ook de servicemannen zijn op pad gegaan en konden de trucks op drie verschillende plekken in actie zien. Wat blijft het geweldig om de rallytrucks door het donker te zien denderen!

Ook sportief was het weer een mooie avond: de 3e plaats voor de DAF! En de 5e plaats voor de Mercedes!

Een resultaat waar we ontzettend trots op zijn! Op naar morgen, want de volgende uitdaging wacht alweer.

Nu eerst tijd om wat uurtjes slaap te pakken… Welterusten en tot morgen!

Breslau Rally 2026 – Night Stage

The DAF of Jasper was finished just in time for the start of the night stage! Fortunately, there was still enough time for some fuel… Mexicanos, of course!

Then it was straight to the start of this spectacular night stage. Our service crew also headed out and managed to watch the trucks at three different spectator locations. Seeing the rally trucks charging through the darkness is simply incredible!

Another great result for the team: the and the 3rd place for the DAF!
5th place for the Mercedes!

A result we’re very proud of! Tomorrow brings another challenge, but for now it’s time to get some well-earned sleep.
