🔋⚡ 2008 Lexus LS600hL - HV Battery Replacement!⚡🔋
This 2008 Lexus LS600hL came in for a complete HV battery replacement. And if there is one Lexus hybrid that can look intimidating on paper, it's this one!
V8 hybrid drivetrain, AWD, long-wheelbase luxury spec, rear-seat comfort features everywhere… basically one of the most over-engineered Lexus models of its time.
But that is also the thing with cars like this: a hybrid battery issue does not automatically mean the car is done.
⚡A Lexus LS600hL is not just an old car with an expensive battery. It is a proper luxury flagship, built to a VERY high standard. If the rest of the car is still in good condition:: engine, drivetrain, interior and overall build... it can absolutely be worth saving.
The HV battery is a big and important component, but it is not always a reason to give up on the car. Replacing the complete battery can be a solid way to keep a high-quality luxury car on the road for many more years.
Sometimes, only replacing the weak parts inside the battery can get the car going again. But it is not always the best long-term solution. When one section has already failed, the remaining parts are often the same age and may follow later. In this case, a complete replacement was simply the best and more reliable option.
⚡To get to the battery, the rear seats and surrounding interior parts had to come out. While working on it, we came across some proper Lexus flagship details: rear-seat leg airbag, real seat cooling elements, adjustable seatbelt mechanisms and a very well-thought-out high-voltage safety procedure.
Even on a car this fully loaded, the job was very doable🙂↔️.
So yes, the big battery replacement sounds scary and expensive.
But with the right approach, cars like this can absolutely be saved, and in many cases, they are worth saving✨.
