Nothing better then to start a new year with BREAKING NEWS !!!

Finally we now know it; The water pump bearing on a 1HD-FTE Landcruiser engine has a roller bearing. We never knew this, we never expected this, we never looked for it as you cannot fix it when its making a noise. This one is beyond all that and did us a pleasure by showing what its made off. It also did its owner a pleasure by warning for the condition the radiator is in.

Luckily it made it to the workshop and tomorrow we do a quick prayer for the engine.

All the best for now and hopefully a good year for all of you.

GOING GREEN IS NOT ALWAYS THE BEST

Today a Landcruiser HZJ105 was brought in by a recovery truck. A unfortunate end of a holiday trip.

Blue and grey smoke from the exhaust pipe and very irregular running above 2000 rpm pointed to a possible fuel problem.

A little black oily trace between turbine housing and exhaust elbow pointed towards another possible issue. Maybe the turbocharger was gone.

Taking the airfilter box out the cause was quite clear, full of leaves and branches ( less air - therefor too much fuel ) and a destroyed trust bearing in the turbocharger as a result of this.

Driving thru branches with a lot of leaves and having a snorkel your airfilter needs more attention.

ITS NOT EXACTLY WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN,

Toyota Mega Cruiser truck; Chugata, based upon the chassis and driveline of the Mega Cruiser BXD10 and BXD20.

Just arrived last tuesday in a 40 Ft container. Are we happy, yes, we are.

Lets see how we get this one on the road but it has to wait a little in line with 6 other Mega Cruisers going first.

It has been a turbulent year, to say the least.....
A year of doubt, more ''downs'' compared to ''ups'' than we are all used to, and maybe even more questions.....
But all those things aside, it turned out to be a year of reflection, humbleness and most important; appreciation as well....

JUST REALIZED, while finishing today ( sunday ) an extra order of Landcruiser 80 series sport turbochargers, I still like this part of the business.

Its this month 30 years ago we started supplying and lateron building turbocharger kits for Toyota Landcruiser and Hi-Lux. And the Landcruiser we still do today.

1st pic; Not many know this is our own brand.
2nd pic; HDJ80 / 82 sports turbochargers build this morning.
3rd pic; Our building table, 32 at a time.
4rd pic; Our product on a 1HZ engine.
5th pic; Harvest on a saturday, 64 base turbochargers for kits.
6th pic; Family business.

Never thought in 1990 we were still doing this in 2020. Probably we are doing something good here.

SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT

Normally it takes a government to make bad s**t out of perfect candy. Not this time as our local township has provided a power point on the street lights to make vacuum cleaning your Landcruiser a lot more convenient. One day we all go electric, isn't it ? Enjoy your weekend while I finish this job.
